Do you come from strategic purchasing in the automotive industry, know the automotive aftermarket, and negotiate confidently with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers? At roadsurfer, as a Strategic Buyer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the product groups spare parts, technical components, and accessories for our Europe-wide fleet of motorhomes and campervans.

The Role - Your Passion

• You develop purchasing strategies for your product groups and are responsible for costs, quality, and delivery performance, including dual sourcing, make-or-buy, and TCO analyses.

• You analyze national and international procurement markets and identify new suppliers and trends.

• You select suppliers, develop them, and build strategic partnerships with OEMs, Tier-1, and aftermarket suppliers, including supplier audits, KPI-based evaluations, and annual discussions.

• You independently conduct price and contract negotiations and conclude framework agreements, SLAs, and bonus agreements.

• You ensure a reliable supply of spare parts, minimize vehicle downtime, and optimize demand planning and inventory levels, including when introducing new vehicle models.

• You further develop purchasing processes, drive digitalization forward, and manage purchasing KPIs based on clean ERP data.

• You work closely with Fleet Management, Operations, Workshops, Finance, and Legal and help shape the development of Europe-wide purchasing concepts.

What You Bring With You

• University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management, or a commercial apprenticeship with further training in purchasing.

• At least 2 years of experience in strategic purchasing in the automotive industry or with an automotive supplier.

• Sound knowledge of the automotive aftermarket, spare parts, and technical components.

• Experience in supplier and product group management with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, including audits and supplier evaluations.

• Negotiation skills for prices and contracts.

• Practical experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP MM, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle).

• Fluent German and English as well as willingness to travel for supplier visits.
  

A Plus Is experience with motorhomes, campers, or caravanning, knowledge of the European workshop and spare parts market, experience with BI tools, and a passion for camping and the outdoors.

Your Salary

We ❤️ transparency. The salary band for this position is between EUR 46,000 and EUR 50,000 gross annually. We are currently introducing salary bands in our job descriptions to ensure that all employees are treated fairly. As soon as we get to know each other better during the application process and can assess your skills and experience more precisely, we will find out together which level within the salary band best suits you. Your salary will be reviewed at least once a year in an annual feedback discussion.
