Senior Quantity Surveyor

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor delivering some of Auckland’s most complex and interesting commercial projects. From civic and cultural builds through to education, healthcare, and retirement villages.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Senior QS, you’ll take ownership of the contractual and financial management of projects, working closely with the commercial and site teams to ensure smooth delivery. You’ll be involved from tendering and procurement through to final accounts, driving strong financial outcomes while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Your role will cover:

• Setting up and monitoring project budgets and forecasts
• Preparing progress claims, variations, and subcontract payments
• Managing contracts and advising on commercial risk
• Overseeing subcontractor performance and supporting site teams
• Contributing to tendering and new business opportunities

What we’re looking for:
We’re after someone with a strong commercial background in the NZ construction sector, ideally with 7-10+ years’ experience and a proven track record on commercial projects up to $50m. You’ll be commercially astute, detail-oriented, and able to build trust with both clients and colleagues. Just as important is your attitude - a positive, collaborative team player who’s proactive and solutions-focused.
