Job description
Role - (Senior) Key Account & Sales Manager (m/f/d) for Commercial and Industrial Battery Storage Systems (DACH)
Company - iwell Germany GmbH - Harmonizing Clean Energy
Location - Düsseldorf
About iwell
At iwell, we are all about strengthening energy security. We help European companies become more energy independent. With growing regulation, extreme price volatility, and increasing grid congestion, companies need to be resilient. It's time to take initiative and act proactively.
We deliver energy management solutions that ensure companies maintain control over their energy at all times. Our in-house developed Energy Management System (EMS) and modular battery storage drive profitability through sustainability and make companies future-proof. We are a fast-growing, international team of bold, talented individuals – from engineers and software developers to creative minds and customer-oriented business developers. No matter where your strengths lie: we are always looking for people who are determined to make a positive impact.
The Role
As a (Senior) Key Account & Sales Manager, you will be the face of iwell in the German market for our commercial, industrial, and transport customers. You won't just be selling standard products; you'll act as a strategic partner for groundbreaking energy solutions – a strong, combined offering of BESS, EMS, and O&M services.
Consultative Selling & Co-Creation: You will deeply understand the customer and their requirements, co-developing a customized solution from the iwell product portfolio. You will orchestrate on-site elements such as PV systems, EV charging infrastructure, and BESS, and clearly communicate iwell's EMS offering.
Business Development & Pipeline Management: You will identify, acquire, and develop strategic key accounts and partners across the entire CCI market (commercial customers, industrial customers, and energy communities/municipalities). You will build a robust pipeline through research, networking, and targeted outreach, and manage the entire sales cycle from cold contact to signed contract – with the support of our international team.
Relationship Management: You will act as a trusted advisor at eye level – from energy managers in heavy industry to C-level decision-makers and installation companies. You will visit customers and partners, present iwell's solutions, and maintain strong relationships that foster satisfaction, customer loyalty, and referrals.
Closing Deals: You will negotiate contracts and close deals that meet both company objectives and customer needs, ensuring mutual satisfaction.
Shaping the Future: You will contribute your own ideas, optimize our sales strategy for customized solutions in the DACH region – including go-to-market approaches, for example for the transport sector – and help make our processes even smarter.
What we are looking for
You bring at least 3 years of experience in commercial and/or sales-related roles.
You have experience in at least one of the following areas: commercial, industrial, or electrified transport projects, or the battery storage sector.
You possess a network in relevant customer segments such as eMobility, truck and bus transport companies, logistics real estate, energy installers/EPCs, and/or heavy industry with electrification needs.
You communicate excellently in written and spoken German and confidently in English. Dutch language skills are a plus!
Ideally, you have already worked with HubSpot or another CRM system.
You hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Engineering, or similar, or have extensive, in-depth industry experience.
You live in Germany and are willing to travel within the country as well as attend industry trade fairs and networking events at home and abroad when required. Occasional travel to our headquarters in Utrecht, Netherlands, is also part of the role.
Weekly working hours of 40 hours.
Office presence 3-4 days per month.
What we offer
For this position, we offer variable compensation in addition to your monthly salary.
30 vacation days per year, plus an annual three-day company outing.
The opportunity to engage in volunteer work – we offer 1 volunteer day per year.
A training budget of EUR 1,500 per year.
Attractive company pension plan with Allianz, including a 5% employer contribution.
You are warmly invited to use our German office daily – however, this is not mandatory. Presence is required at regular, pre-planned team events in Germany as well as approximately 2 days per month at our headquarters in the Netherlands.
2 weeks of remote work per year are possible (country of your choice).
We provide you with a company car, which you can also use for private purposes.
A mobile phone allowance of EUR 25 per month.
