How often do you get the chance not to take over AI in a corporation, but to start it? 

Most data and AI roles start in the middle of things. Someone wrote a strategy years ago, projects are running, structures are in place. This role starts at the beginning. You are the person who shapes the path of an entire corporation into data-based work, with everything that entails, from the very first decision.

The Company 

Our client is an internationally active service corporation with several thousand employees, managed from a holding company in Germany. The IT is currently being reorganized, and in this process, a function is being created in the central division that did not exist before: a position responsible for data management and AI together with the innovation process, across the entire group and all business units.

The foundations are in place. A data warehouse, technology and innovation teams in the business units, a network of IT and digital partners. What's coming now is the step from the foundation to the system, and this position is being created precisely for that.

What it's about

You will turn the existing building blocks into a data-driven organization. Data that is reliable across the group. An innovation process that brings ideas all the way to production. Communities in which specialist departments learn from each other across company boundaries. This is a rare task. Whoever accepts it does not shape a project, but the way a corporation makes decisions in the future.

• You will shape the path to a data-based organization and establish data roles and responsibilities for this purpose in all business units.
• You will build out the central data warehouse as the group's reliable data source and participate in the data and AI strategy as well as the associated governance.
• You will implement proofs of concept and pilot projects and transition successful ones into operation.
• Together with the existing technology and innovation teams, you will establish a structured innovation process and prioritize data- and AI-based use cases.
• You will utilize the partner network of IT and digital companies to further develop the IT services organization and expand strategic partnerships.
• You will found and lead cross-business unit Communities of Practice for Data and AI.
• You will provide company-wide training on data and AI, from specialist departments to management.

• Several years of experience in data management and AI, with use cases that have reached operational status
• Practical experience in innovation management, from trend scouting to building IT ecosystems and strategic partnerships
• Experience in aligning and communicating data and AI strategy and governance across multiple companies
• An aptitude for bringing together and retaining specialist departments, IT, and external partners in a community
• Completed degree in Business Informatics, Business Administration, Media Informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Very good German language skills
