Role & Objective

As an Enterprise Account Executive Public Sector – Northern States & Social Security Institutions, you will be responsible for the strategic expansion of a highly fragmented, yet clearly scalable market. DeepL is already used in many organizations in specific areas. The goal of this role is to structurally anchor DeepL as a holistic platform with integrated AI capabilities in the market and to establish market-specific use cases that are repeatable and scalable.

A key success factor is the consistent focus on the large, market-shaping players – state administrations in Northern Germany, major social security institutions, and metropolitan municipalities in NRW. For these customers, you will develop dedicated strategies, quickly win them as references, and then scale the developed approaches partner-driven into the broad market.

Sustainable market success requires targeted access to the highest decision-making level. You will position DeepL as a strategic product at the top management level and secure executive sponsorship for organization-wide usage and scaling.

Coverage: State ministries, state enterprises, and state IT service providers in Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern; social security institutions (Deutsche Rentenversicherung, Bundesagentur für Arbeit & DGUV) as well as the municipal sector in North Rhine-Westphalia

Core Responsibilities

Regional Market & Scaling Strategy

• Development of a territory-specific go-to-market strategy for the Northern States, Social Security Institutions, and the NRW municipal sector

• Identification and prioritization of key customers with a high multiplier effect

• Building transferable models and reference architectures

Account & Portfolio Development

• Expansion of existing customers from single or departmental usage to organization-wide deployments

• Leveraging references for structured market penetration

• Interlinking of functional and IT-related use cases

Market-Specific Use Cases & AI Application

• Development, evaluation, and implementation of market-specific use cases

• Joint development with customers and relevant stakeholders

• Anchoring DeepL's AI capabilities as an integral part of the product benefit

• Standardization of successful use cases for scaling

Executive Engagement & Market Positioning

• Building strong relationships with C-level and top management stakeholders (e.g., State Secretaries, CEOs of social security institutions, Mayors, and Managing Directors)

• Positioning DeepL as a strategic lever for efficiency, quality, and scaling

• Ensuring executive alignment for rollouts and partner scaling

Ecosystem & Partners

• Building a high-performing partner ecosystem

• Joint market development and co-selling

• Scaling proven use cases to the broad market through partners

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven, in-depth experience in the Public Sector – ideally in state administration, with social security institutions, or in the municipal environment

• Very good understanding of public decision-making and procurement processes

• Experience in building scalable public sector approaches; a strong network in the NRW municipal sector is an advantage
