Role & Objective

As Enterprise Account Executive Public Sector – Länder & Kommunen, you will be responsible for the strategic expansion of a highly fragmented, yet clearly scalable market.

DeepL is already used in many organizations on a point basis. The objective of this role is to structurally anchor DeepL as a holistic platform with integrated AI capabilities in the market and to establish market-specific use cases that are repeatable and scalable.

A key success factor is the consistent focus on the large, market-shaping players (federal states, metropolitan municipalities, large municipal enterprises, municipal IT service providers). For these customers, you will develop dedicated strategies, quickly win them as references, and then scale the developed approaches partner-driven into the broad market.

Sustainable market success requires targeted access to the highest decision-making level. You will position DeepL as a strategic product at the top management level and secure executive sponsorship for organization-wide use and scaling.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Market & Scaling Strategy

• Development of a regional go-to-market strategy for federal states and municipalities

• Identification and prioritization of lighthouse customers with high multiplier effects

• Development of transferable models and reference architectures

Account & Portfolio Development

• Expansion of existing customers from single or departmental use to organization-wide deployments

• Utilization of references for structured market penetration

• Interlinking of functional and IT-related use cases

Market-Specific Use Cases & AI Application

• Development, evaluation, and implementation of market-specific use cases

• Joint development with customers and relevant stakeholders

• Anchoring DeepL's AI capabilities as an integral part of the product benefit

• Standardization of successful use cases for scaling

Executive Engagement & Market Positioning

• Building robust relationships with C-level and top management stakeholders (e.g., State Secretaries, Mayors, Board Members, Managing Directors)

• Positioning DeepL as a strategic lever for efficiency, quality, and scaling

• Ensuring executive alignment for rollouts and partner scaling

Ecosystem & Partners

• Building a high-performance partner ecosystem

• Joint market development and co-selling

• Scaling proven use cases through partners into the broad market

Requirements

• Proven, in-depth experience in the federal states and municipal market

• Very good understanding of public decision-making and procurement processes

• Experience in building scalable public sector approaches
