For a medium-sized mechanical engineering company from the Aachen region, we are looking for a Sales Director International (m/f/d) as part of a planned succession. You will take responsibility for international sales and will receive power of attorney (Prokura) in the future.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for international sales and report directly to management.

• You will manage six sales representatives who are responsible for international markets.
• You will manage 20 to 30 sales representatives worldwide – even without direct authority.
• You will develop existing customers and systematically build new business.
• You will decide which sales partners are performing, need to be developed, or need to be replaced.
• You will stay close to customers and work closely with design and manufacturing.

Sales representatives play a central role, in particular. Growth is increasingly emerging in markets that are served by external partners.

Qualifications

We are specifically looking for no sales director from outside the industry.

• You have several years of experience in international sales of complex investment goods in specialty, custom, or plant mechanical engineering.
• You have built up and actively managed sales representatives, agents, or distributors.
• You have already managed a team directly or demonstrably technically.
• You know both owner-managed customers and structured purchasing organizations.
• You speak German and English fluently and are willing to travel internationally (approx. 70 days per year)

A technical degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering is a good fit.

An equivalent technical qualification with corresponding practical experience is also possible.

Your profile is particularly interesting if...

...you have already gained experience with the processing of foam, rubber, cork, or related flexible materials.

Spanish or French are also a plus. The same applies to collaboration with an independently operating foreign subsidiary, for example in the USA.

These points are not minimum requirements. Material knowledge can be acquired – but solid mechanical engineering experience cannot.

The company develops complex machines for international customers. Every order connects sales, design, manufacturing, and subsequent acceptance at the customer's site.

Sales are made both directly and through a worldwide network of sales representatives. In addition, there is an independently operating subsidiary in the USA.
