CPO - Chief Product Officer (m/f/d)
Job description
Job Description
Pammys has grown to over 1.3 million customers in just a few years. Now we are building the Product Organization for our next growth phase: new categories, higher volumes, international markets, and a globally scalable production network.
For this, we are looking for a Chief Product Officer (m/f/d) who will build, lead, and take our entire Product Organization to the next level.
We are not looking for a CPO who only knows products from strategy meetings.
We are looking for a builder and operator who knows how to connect Product Development, Engineering, Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Production, Quality, and Product Marketing into a high-performing organization.
Together with the founders, you will develop our long-term product and category strategy and, at the same time, be responsible for its operational effectiveness.
If a development process isn't working, you dive in.
If quality, costing, or timelines are not right, you want to understand why and solve the problem together with your team.
If essential competencies are missing, you build them up.
A central part of your role is building our international product and sourcing structure in China and, prospectively, in other production markets like Vietnam.
Your goal is clear:
Better products. Faster development cycles. Higher quality. Stronger margins. Clear ownership. A Product Organization that can scale with Pammys.Your Tasks
- You will be responsible for the establishment and further development of central company areas, consistently evolving structures, responsibilities, processes, and leadership.
- You will build high-performing teams and functions along the entire value chain – from strategy and development, through procurement and production, to marketing and commercial steering.
- You will recruit, lead, and develop strong leaders and specialists, creating an organization that operates independently, is clearly structured, and scalable.
- Together with the founders, you will develop the long-term company and growth strategy and translate it into clear priorities, structures, and operational measures.
- You will ensure that strategic initiatives are managed efficiently, cross-functionally, and results-oriented from the initial idea to successful implementation.
- You will optimize processes with the aim of shortening decision-making paths, reducing complexity, and making the organization faster and more efficient.
- You will further develop our international partner, production, and supplier network and conduct strategic negotiations on costs, capacities, quality, timelines, and framework conditions.
- Together with us, you will further expand our international presence, especially in China, and develop a high-performing local team there in the long term.
- You will establish clear quality, steering, and control mechanisms and ensure that agreed-upon standards are consistently implemented in day-to-day operations.
- Together with the relevant teams, you will be responsible for the commercial steering of central business areas – including costs, prices, margins, volumes, timelines, and profitability.
- You will create clear responsibilities and ensure that important initiatives are consistently driven forward across all involved functions.
- You will closely link strategy and operational implementation with customer needs, market knowledge, and commercial potential.
- You will regularly collaborate directly with our international teams and partners and, in critical matters, will also delve deeply into operational issues yourself.
Your Profile
- Several years of leadership experience at Director, VP, SVP, or C-level in the product area of a footwear brand or a comparable international consumer company.
- Demonstrated experience in building and scaling a multidisciplinary product organization.
- In-depth expertise in footwear development, engineering, construction, materials, fit, sampling, testing, and production.
- Many years of direct experience with footwear factories and production partners in China, as well as ideally a robust network in the Asian sourcing market.
- Very good knowledge of sourcing, costing, supplier management, production planning, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience in building and scaling product portfolios, categories, and international product lines.
- Strong commercial understanding of margins, pricing, manufacturing costs, volumes, assortment, and product profitability.
- You can develop strategy at a C-level and, at the same time, dive deep enough operationally to understand and drive complex product, development, or production problems yourself.
- You are a builder and feel comfortable in an organization where structures are not fully defined, but created by you.
- You lead with high standards, clear responsibility, and strong execution.
- You make decisions quickly, data-based, and with a strong entrepreneurial understanding.
- Very good English skills as well as a high willingness to travel internationally, especially to China and our production partners.
- Proximity to Hamburg or the willingness to work regularly on-site with our team.
Your Benefits at Pammys
- True C-level ownership: You will be responsible for the entire Product Organization, one of the most critical pillars of our future company strategy.
- Build instead of manage: You are not taking over an existing corporate organization, but can actively build teams, structures, processes, and responsibilities.
- Direct influence on our growth: You will significantly decide which products and categories Pammys will develop and scale in the coming years.
- Direct access to the founders: Product decisions are made quickly, and you are directly involved in the most important strategic decisions.
- International scope: You will help build our structures in China and work directly with factories, producers, and international partners.
- High speed: No endless coordination loops. If we are convinced, we implement.
- Strong foundation: You build on a footwear brand with over 1.3 million customers and shape the next growth phase from here.
- Great scope for design: You can develop a Product Organization designed for speed, quality, profitability, and international scaling.
- Executive Package: A compensation package commensurate with the responsibility, experience, and impact of the role, including performance-based components.
- Location in Hamburg with direct proximity to founders, leadership team, and central company functions.
