Job description
Stackabl Homes BC Inc. is driving the future of sustainable, affordable, and high-quality housing in British Columbia and across Canada. We empower stakeholders—Builders, Developers, Non-Profits, Municipalities, and First Nations—by delivering safe, quality homes through our innovative prefab modular wood building technology. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to establish key partnerships and drive early sales for our modular home model units.
This role has a clear mandate to develop robust sales pipelines and strategic partnerships, focusing on long-term growth and market expansion.
- Strategic Partnership Development: Identify, initiate, and secure strategic partnerships and long-term relationships with key client segments: Developers, Builders, Non-Profits, Municipalities, and First Nations.
- Sales Channel Creation & Lead Generation: Actively prospect and qualify new business opportunities through outbound channels (networking, industry events, social selling, and direct outreach) to build a robust sales pipeline.
- Value Proposition Articulation: Clearly articulate the value of Stackabl’s modular wood technology, emphasizing its speed, sustainability, quality, and affordability to diverse stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Proposal Management & Negotiation: Lead the creation of compelling proposals and business cases, negotiating terms and conditions to secure contracts and formal partnerships.
- Market Analysis: Conduct continuous market research to stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving client needs within the BC housing and development sector.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership, production, and finance teams to ensure project feasibility, align development strategies, and provide market insights for future product development.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of proven business development or sales experience, preferably within the construction, housing, modular/prefab, or real estate development industry.
- Sector Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to successfully engage with and navigate the processes of large organizations, specifically Developers and Municipalities. Experience working with Non-Profits or First Nations is a significant asset.
- Relationship Focus: A strong background in long-term relationship building and nurturing, as success relies on developing trust with partners.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and strong analytical skills for developing viability assessments and financial forecasts (pro-formas) is highly desirable.
- Adaptability: Possesses a **"startup mindset"—**resilient, adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable operating independently to achieve strategic goals.
- Location: Based in or near a major BC market (Greater Vancouver, Okanagan, Vancouver Island) with a willingness to travel extensively across the province to meet with partners and prospects.
Benefits
Stackabl Homes offers a competitive package designed to reward high performance and strategic achievement in an early-stage company.
- Base Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
- Performance-Based Commission: A highly attractive, uncapped commission structure tied to secured partnerships and closed contracts. This component is designed to elevate On-Target Earnings (OTE) significantly above the base salary.
- Equity Options: Opportunity to receive Founding Employee Stock Options (ESOP), aligning personal financial growth directly with the long-term success and valuation of Stackabl Homes.
- Benefits: Health benefits package.
