Do you want to contribute to safe, realistic, and professionally organized training at the Korps Commandotroepen (KCT)? As an Advisor Corporate Safety Training, you will translate safety risks and applicable frameworks into practical measures for education and training. In doing so, you will help instructors, curriculum developers, and military personnel in training to work safely without losing sight of the operational objective.
You will advise curriculum developers and instructors on physical safety in the educational process. You will assess risks, draw up research and advice plans, and help embed safety measures in lesson and training programs. You will follow developments in the field, assess what these mean for the KCT, and connect the practice on the work floor with decision-making in the staff.
You will work within an informal and committed team. You will divide your time between the office at the barracks in Roosendaal and the locations where education and training take place. Periodic business trips within the Netherlands and abroad are part of the function.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Ensuring Corporate Safety: You ensure physical safety in the design, preparation, and execution of education and training.
Tailored Safety Advice: You analyze risks, draw up research and advice plans, and advise on workable control measures.
Raising Awareness: You support instructors in increasing risk awareness and safe conduct during training.
Quality Assurance and Innovation: You assess new insights, methods, and techniques and translate them into applicable improvements within the KCT.
Stakeholder Management: You coordinate safety issues and necessary measures with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructors, units, and fellow advisors.
What we ask
You combine safety expertise with a practical attitude. You carefully analyze risks, communicate clearly, and provide independent advice. In the dynamic training environment, you easily switch between instructors, specialists, and decision-makers.
Job Requirements:
A demonstrable safety background, built through education and relevant practical experience.
Completed HBO (Higher Professional Education) degree and relevant experience with corporate safety or operational safety.
Experience with developing or guiding education and training programs is a plus.
You can analyze safety risks and translate them into clear, actionable measures.
To be effective in this role, you possess the following competencies:
Analytical Ability: You understand complex safety issues, recognize risks, and establish links between policy, training objectives, and operational practice.
Judgment and Decisiveness: You carefully weigh risks and interests, form an independent judgment, and arrive at clear advice in a timely manner.
Advisory Skills: You translate safety insights into concrete, actionable measures and know how to create support for your advice.
Communication Skills: You communicate clearly and persuasively with instructors, specialists, managers, and other stakeholders.
Organizational Sensitivity: You understand the operational context of the KCT and take into account responsibilities, interests, and decision-making lines in your advice.
Collaboration: You actively seek connection with subject matter experts and users and contribute to joint, workable safety solutions.
Independence and Initiative: You proactively tackle issues, organize your work independently, and discuss bottlenecks in a timely manner.
Flexibility and Stress Resistance: You remain careful and effective in a dynamic environment, even when priorities change or time pressure increases.
Integrity and Sense of Responsibility: You handle sensitive information with care and act consistently from a professional safety awareness.
At KCT, you work closely with operational practice and deliver visible results in education and training. You will have the opportunity to learn the organization, take responsibility, and further develop your safety expertise.
Dynamics and Variety: Regular business trips within the Netherlands and abroad offer you the chance to see much of the organization and gain experience in unique locations.
Work Environment: An informal and close-knit team within the KCT.
Development: Ample career advancement and training opportunities within the Defense network.
