As an Income Consultant, you are responsible for evaluating, granting, and managing benefits based on the Participation Act and related legislation. You support residents in questions about income and livelihood security and ensure that applications are handled carefully, lawfully, and timely. With your analytical insight and customer-oriented approach, you contribute to a reliable and careful implementation of the municipal income policy.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and handle applications based on the Participation Act, IOAW, IOAZ, and related regulations.

  • Determine the right to benefits and calculate the amount of allowances.

  • Evaluate changes in clients' life situations and revise decisions if necessary.

  • Check for legality and signal potential fraud situations.

  • Conduct conversations with clients to map their financial and personal situation.

  • Guide clients towards greater financial independence and collaborate with debt counseling or reintegration.

  • Take care of correct and up-to-date administration in the client system.

  • Contribute to policy development and process improvement within the income team.

Requirements

  • A completed HBO degree, preferably in Social Juridical Service (SJD), Laws, or Social Work.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with the Participation Act, Besluit bijstandsverlening zelfstandigen (Bbz), and other relevant legislation.

  • Experience in evaluating benefit applications and conducting client conversations.

  • Analytical strong, precise, and honest in decision-making.

  • Experience with municipal systems (such as GWS4all, Socrates, or Suite4SociaalDomein).

  • Good communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.

  • Mastery of the Dutch language in word and writing.

Wishes

  • Experience within a municipal organization or social domain.

  • Knowledge of debt counseling, minimum regulations, and income support.

  • Experience with enforcement or fraud research.

  • Stress-resistant, decision-making, and result-oriented.

  • Readiness for ongoing education and knowledge development.
