Youngstock Foreman - Dairy Farm

Apt Resources is seeking a dedicated and experienced Youngstock Foreman to join a leading dairy farm. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the care and development of young cattle, ensuring that they receive excellent nutrition, health care, and management. Your leadership will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall productivity and health of the dairy herd. Responsibilities Supervise daily care and management of all calves and heifers. Monitor feeding, housing, and health programs. Administer vaccinations, medications, and other treatments as needed. Maintain accurate records of animal health, growth, and performance. Implement and enforce biosecurity protocols to prevent disease. Train and supervise farm staff in youngstock management practices. Assist with calving and newborn calf care. Collaborate with veterinarians and nutritionists to optimize calf and heifer health and growth. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in youngstock management on a dairy farm. Strong knowledge of calf and heifer nutrition, health, and behavior. Ability to identify and address health issues in young cattle. Experience with administering medications and vaccinations. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
