Job description
Westbridge Group | What drives us
Buildings and properties have to perform more today than ever before: become more efficient, conserve resources, and at the same time be operated economically. This requires not only intelligent solutions and transparent data, but also powerful financial control.
As one of the leading energy and sustainability consultants for the real estate industry in Europe, we are actively driving this transformation. We support our clients in making buildings and portfolios fit for the future – from strategic consulting and technical planning to successful implementation.
Finance today is far more than accounting and reporting: processes, systems, and requirements are continuously evolving and opening up new opportunities to position Finance more efficiently and future-oriented. For our team in Frankfurt am Main, we are therefore looking for a Working Student Finance (m/f/d) who not only knows Finance from their studies, but also wants to get to know the different areas in practice and actively contribute to operational topics, transformation projects, and M&A-related issues.
Your Responsibilities
As part of our Finance team, you will get to know the different facets of Finance up close and work on operational, analytical, and project-related issues. You will work closely with our Accounting & Tax, FP&A, and Finance Transformation functions, as well as the respective Directors. In addition to the ongoing Finance day-to-day business, you will also contribute to transformation projects, M&A-related topics, and the further development of our Finance structures and processes.
- FP&A & Reporting: You will support the analysis of revenue, cost, and earnings developments, as well as the preparation of relevant KPIs and management reports. You will gain direct insight into our planning, forecasting, and reporting processes, and learn to contextualize financial developments and understand their key drivers.
- Finance Transformation: You will support the further development of our Finance processes and contribute to the design and implementation of specific improvement measures. This includes supporting the automation of recurring workflows, as well as the introduction and further development of new systems and technologies in the Finance area.
- M&A & PMI: You will support M&A-related Finance issues and gain insights into transactions and due diligence processes. A particular focus is on Post-Merger Integration: here you will help integrate newly acquired companies into our Finance structures and merge processes, data, and systems.
- Accounting: You will support our Accounting team in operational day-to-day business and get to know the central processes of financial accounting firsthand. Furthermore, you will contribute to monthly, annual, and consolidated financial statements, thereby developing a sound understanding of how accounting and reporting work together in practice.
- Strategic Finance Projects: You will work on cross-departmental Finance projects and current issues, taking on your own sub-tasks. This will give you the opportunity to accompany topics from analysis and conception to concrete implementation and to increasingly take on responsibility.
What You Bring With You
You have a good understanding of numbers and economic contexts, think analytically, and quickly familiarize yourself with new topics. At the same time, you enjoy hands-on work, communicate openly and clearly, and feel comfortable in a dynamic environment where topics and priorities can change at short notice. You bring the necessary flexibility and initiative to take on responsibility and actively drive topics forward.
- You are enrolled in a Master's program or at least in your fourth semester of a Bachelor's program in Business Administration, Economics, or a comparable field of study, with a focus on Finance, Accounting, or Controlling.
- Ideally, you already have initial practical experience in the Finance environment, for example in Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Auditing, or Consulting.
- You can keep an overview even with multiple parallel tasks and work in a structured, careful, and reliable manner.
- You have very good written and spoken German and English skills.
- You are digitally savvy, have very good MS Office skills – especially in Excel and PowerPoint – and quickly and gladly familiarize yourself with new tools and Finance systems. Initial experience with applications such as DATEV, LucaNet, or Power BI is a plus, but not a requirement.
- You already have experience using AI-based tools and use them specifically to process tasks more efficiently, structure information, and improve the quality of your work results.
How We Work
With us, you are not confined to a single Finance area. You will work closely with our teams from Accounting & Tax, FP&A, and Finance Transformation, thereby gaining a comprehensive insight into different Finance disciplines and their interplay. You will work directly with experienced colleagues and the respective Directors.
You can immediately apply your knowledge from your studies in practice and develop both professionally and personally. We will systematically introduce you to your tasks, but at the same time expect you to contribute proactively, think along, and drive topics forward independently. With increasing experience, we will give you the opportunity to take on more responsibility and your own task packages. It is important to us that you do not just observe, but actively participate from the beginning and make a real contribution to our Finance team.
What particularly distinguishes us is our team: We are a young, ambitious Finance team with high dynamics, short decision-making paths, and strong cohesion. We work on technically demanding tasks, support each other, and at the same time enjoy driving things forward together. We value direct and open exchange and give good ideas the necessary space, regardless of role or experience.
Your studies remain the priority: During the semester, you can support us up to 20 hours per week, and during non-lecture periods, by agreement, also full-time.
Your Next Step
We look forward to getting to know you and discussing with you what your next career step should look like – and whether we are the right partner for it.
