Job description
At Stark, we forge the future of European and national security through cutting-edge, AI-driven technology and unmatched engineering precision. As a premier defence technology company, our mission is clear: to equip NATO Allies and their partners with next-generation autonomous defence platforms and advanced AI-driven software built to perform in the world’s most demanding environments.
We believe that true security stems from relentless innovation. By combining elite engineering talent with agile technology and an AI-native operational culture, Stark turns complex defence challenges into field-tested, multi-domain solutions.
Why Join Us?
- The software and systems you work on directly protect personnel and defend European and national sovereignty.
- You will work alongside industry-leading minds on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion, and secure cyber platforms.
- We foster a fast-paced, collaborative environment where bold ideas are supported by serious R&D backing.
About the Team
You will become part of our team at the interface between international trade, export control, and daily operations at STARK. You will work closely with colleagues from various departments such as sales, purchasing, and logistics. From the beginning, you will work on real cases and gain practical experience in a fast-paced international environment.
Your Mission
As a working student in the area of export control, you will support us in reliably integrating national and international export control regulations into our daily business processes.
You will work closely with various specialist departments such as sales, purchasing, and logistics and support with specific questions regarding export licenses, sanctions, goods classifications, and country-specific restrictions.
In doing so, you will gain direct insight into real cases of international trade and export control law and can immediately apply your theoretical knowledge in practice.
Responsibilities
- You answer daily questions from specialist departments, such as sales, purchasing, and logistics, regarding export control-related processes and audit steps.
- You actively support the preparation and processing of export license applications with the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA).
- Prior to planned exports, you conduct research on export licenses, sanctions, goods classifications, and country-specific restrictions.
- You analyze and document past export and customs data for risk analysis and for the preparation of internal and external audits.
- You independently create, check, and manage end-use statements for customers, suppliers, and authorities.
Required Skills
- You are an enrolled student (all genders) in the field of business law, law, business administration, logistics, international business, or a comparable field of study.
- You have a basic understanding or strong interest in German and European export control law, particularly AWG/AWV and the EU Dual-Use Regulation.
- You enjoy conveying complex regulations in an understandable way and supporting your colleagues in a solution-oriented manner.
- You work very carefully, structured, and independently.
- You have excellent German and very good English language skills.
Nice-To-Have
Initial practical experience in the field of export control, customs, compliance, or foreign trade, e.g., through internships or working student positions.
Equal Opportunity:
At Stark Defence, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team. We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We actively encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and identities.
If you are excited about this role, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the listed qualifications—ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points. We value unique perspectives, adaptability, and a drive to solve high-stakes challenges.
Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of our work in the defence sector, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position. Details will be provided during the recruitment process.
