WLAN Phy design engineer - Sr Staff/manager

Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Hardware Engineering General Summary: Qualcomm's Bangalore WLAN PHY (Baseband) team is seeking VLSI (Sr Staff)Digital Design Engineers to lead IP development for the latest WiFi standards. Our WLAN PHY team, comprised of highly passionate and seasoned domain experts, prides itself on years of experience in taking WLAN PHY designs from concept to silicon independently. WLAN PHY team is responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions that enable seamless connectivity and data transfer. Key responsibilities include: * Designing and developing IP blocks for WLAN PHY using VLSI design tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler, Cadence Genus, or Mentor Graphics QuestaSim. * Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the latest WiFi standards, including IEEE 802.11ax, IEEE 802.11ac, and IEEE 802.11ad. * Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate IP blocks into larger system-on-chip (SoC) designs. * Participating in design reviews and ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications and standards. * Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of VLSI design methodologies, including digital design, analog design, and mixed-signal design. * Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in WLAN PHY technology. Requirements: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. * 5+ years of experience in VLSI digital design, preferably in the wireless communication domain. * Strong understanding of digital circuit design, including HDL languages such as Verilog and VHDL. * Experience with VLSI design tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler, Cadence Genus, or Mentor Graphics QuestaSim. * Familiarity with WLAN PHY standards and protocols, including IEEE 802.11ax, IEEE 802.11ac, and IEEE 802.11ad. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
