Research Assistant (M/W/D) in the Research Project Reaktivator

The team in the REAKTIVATOR research project is looking for a research assistant with a focus on engineering activities. This involves developing and implementing an open lightweight rail vehicle for rural areas.

This project is part of REAKT, a transdisciplinary initiative from Schleswig-Holstein. The goal of those involved: to make rail transport more individualized, attractive, safe, and economical, in order to reliably connect the rural area again. In FuE projects, partners from science and industry develop innovative solutions together.

Tasks

Research and Engineering Activities

• Development and construction of rail vehicles
• Assembly and commissioning
• Testing on the research track

Qualifications

• Good construction knowledge (ideally SolidWorks)
• Able to find solutions independently
• Understanding of technical documentation/publications
• Will to work together in small teams
• Bonus points: Knowledge in the field of rail vehicle technology and prototyping

The project coordinator is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Strauß from HAW Kiel.

The position with a working time of 38.7 hours per week offers a high degree of design freedom. It is to be filled short-term and initially until 30.06.2028. A further extension is planned. The remuneration will take place according to TVL, depending on qualifications, an allocation up to EG13 is possible. The workplace is Kiel.
