Job description

Do you enjoy thinking in systems, quickly recognizing inefficient processes, and taking pleasure in transforming manual processes into clean digital solutions?

As a Business Informatics Specialist at ESH, you will work at the intersection of business processes, software, and automation.

You will analyze existing workflows, develop digital solutions, and ensure that our systems function reliably together.

This is not about constantly chasing every new tool. We are looking for someone who truly understands processes, develops sensible solutions, and then implements them cleanly, comprehensibly, and durably.

Your Tasks

  • You will analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for digitization and automation.

  • You will design and implement digital processes for our internal workflows.

  • You will develop and optimize automations for recurring tasks.

  • You will connect different applications via APIs, webhooks, and interfaces.

  • You will maintain and further develop our existing SaaS applications.

  • You will introduce new software solutions and integrate them meaningfully into our existing processes.

  • You will ensure that data is reliably transferred between our systems.

  • You will analyze errors and develop sustainable solutions instead of short-term workarounds.

  • You will document processes, systems, and automations in a comprehensible manner.

  • You will work closely with sales, marketing, customer support, and management to implement their requirements in a technically sensible way.

  • You will train employees on new systems and ensure that new processes actually work in daily operations.

  • You will regularly review existing solutions for stability, efficiency, and potential improvements.

This is what your workday looks like

A large part of your work involves understanding existing workflows and developing functioning digital systems from them.

For example, you will receive a process from sales, marketing, customer support, or internal organization and first analyze:

What is currently happening? Where do errors or unnecessary manual steps occur? Which data is needed? Which systems are involved? And what can be sensibly automated?

Subsequently, you will develop a solution, implement it technically, test it, and document the new workflow.

You will primarily work focused and independently on your tasks and projects. For technical requirements, you will coordinate directly with the responsible colleagues.

We value that solutions not only function technically but are also understandably documented, stable, and maintainable in the long term.

This position is particularly suitable for you if…

  • you enjoy thinking logically and analytically,

  • you can quickly understand complex workflows,

  • you enjoy systematically solving problems,

  • you work in a very structured and precise manner,

  • you prefer to develop a clean long-term solution rather than multiple short-term workarounds,

  • you can concentrate on a problem for an extended period,

  • you want to understand existing processes first before changing them,

  • you prefer to work independently but reliably coordinate requirements with others,

  • you want to understand the cause of errors, not just fix them,

  • you value documentation and comprehensible systems,

  • you take responsibility for the functionality of your solutions,

  • you enjoy building and increasingly understanding an area in the long term.

What you should bring

  • Completed degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a comparable technical background

  • Very good analytical and structured thinking skills

  • Quick comprehension

  • Good understanding of business processes and their digitization

  • Experience with digital system landscapes and SaaS applications

  • Understanding of APIs, webhooks, and interfaces

  • Experience with automation platforms or the ability to quickly learn them

  • High solution and results orientation

  • Careful and comprehensible documentation

  • Independent and reliable working style

  • Very good German language skills, both written and spoken

Experience with n8n, Make, Zapier, or comparable automation platforms is an advantage.

However, it is not crucial for us that you already know every system we use. It is more important that you understand technical connections and can systematically learn new solutions.

Your Onboarding at ESH

Initially, you will get to know our existing systems, business processes, and responsibilities.

We will show you how information flows between individual departments, which processes are already automated, and where manual steps currently still exist.

Afterwards, you will gradually take over your own processes and projects.

Existing documentation, dedicated contact persons, and our internal training platform will help you quickly build a comprehensive understanding of our workflows.

Our goal is that you increasingly manage, develop, and optimize our digital infrastructure independently.

What good IT work means to us

We do not implement new software just because it is new or interesting.

Technology should make our work easier, more reliable, and more efficient.

Therefore, we expect you to first understand the problem and then develop the most technically sensible solution.

A good solution for us is:

  • stable,

  • comprehensible,

  • as simple as possible,

  • documented,

  • scalable

  • and usable for the people who work with it daily.

What awaits you at ESH

Own Area of Responsibility

You will not just receive individual IT tickets, but will take responsibility for digital processes, automations, and systems.

Time for Focused Work

Many of your tasks require concentration and analytical thinking. Therefore, you should have enough time to engage deeply with technical issues.

Clear Requirements

For new projects, we first jointly clarify the desired outcome and the functional requirements.

Within this framework, you will independently develop the technical solution.

Modern Digital Way of Working

We already work highly digitally and use various SaaS applications, automations, and online systems that you can further develop and connect.

Long-Term Perspective

Our processes and systems evolve with the company.

We are therefore looking for someone who knows our technical infrastructure long-term, takes responsibility for it, and continuously improves it.

Attractive Remuneration

Depending on experience and qualifications, your salary will be between €5,000–€5,500 gross per month.

Modern Workplaces

You can expect modern office spaces in Hamburg-Altona, high-quality work equipment, and height-adjustable desks.

Employee Benefits

Through our employee benefit system, we offer you various discounts and subsidies, including through Probonio.

Framework Conditions

Work Location: Hamburg-Altona
Employment: Full-time
Work Model: On-site
Salary: €5,000–€5,500 gross/month

If you enjoy understanding systems, logically structuring workflows, and developing technical solutions that work reliably in the long term, we look forward to receiving your application.
