How you can make a difference

You make a difference by working on unique and complex projects in the Netherlands related to design, construction, and maintenance of dikes and water barriers. With our experience in water protection, we keep waterways deep and widen rivers so that the water can flow freely.

We always work with care for nature. As a Dike and River Preparer at Boskalis Nederland, you can be part of such a project. A nice example of our projects are the Markermeerdijken, Meanderende Maas, the Zwolle-Olst dike reinforcement or the creation of a new island near Amsterdam for the expansion of the IJburg neighborhood. But think also about a project like the Markerwadden, where we realized new islands with material from the Markermeer in commission from Natuurmonumenten and Rijkswaterstaat.

What you will do as Dike and River Preparer within Rivieren & Dijken:

• Evaluating the requirements of clients and comparing work methods, so that we execute tenders and projects in accordance with the requirements.
• Reviewing part of a design, testing feasibility, and creating and presenting a trade-off matrix.
• Preparing ground flow plans, execution, and quality plans.
• Requesting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluating them.

• Advising and assisting in the execution of projects, usually on location, and signaling problems and opportunities regarding the progress of the project.

What you bring

• You have at least a completed mbo-education in civil engineering.
• You have at least 1 year of work experience as a project engineer or dike preparer.
• You have experience with large-scale excavation, dredging, or dike construction.
• Good command of the Dutch language in word and writing.
