Student Assistant Web Development and AI Automation (m/w/d)

If you study computer science, business informatics or something comparable, like building things that are really used, and want to see how AI is practically applied in a company, this might be a good fit for you.

The ITCS is Tech Conference, Job Fair and Festival all in one. We host our events in several cities across Germany and connect Tech, Career, and Community in a way that's not found everywhere else.

Our WordPress website is the heart of our events. Exhibitors maintain company profiles, speakers, presentations, and job postings there. We want to connect these data stronger with automations, APIs, and AI workflows, and for that we're looking for you.

You'll be working directly with the management team, our external web developer, and the event team. Your results won't end up in a drawer, but will be integrated into real workflows and visible on our events.

We especially welcome applications from women because technical roles are often male-dominated. If you're interested in practically implementing technical topics and getting insights into our Women Career Festival, this is a great fit.

Aufgaben

Your mission (if you accept it)

• You'll develop our WordPress site further (Theme: Voxel): small adjustments, forms, templates, and new features
• You'll work with interfaces. Through the WordPress REST API, data like speaker names, presentation titles, and company profiles will be automated into internal task lists
• You'll create and maintain automations using Make.com and KI tools like Claude and ChatGPT
• You'll test changes thoroughly on a staging environment, document your work, and ensure backups
• You'll support the setup of small internal tools, scripts, or workflows that streamline recurring tasks
• You'll coordinate with our external web developer, the event team, and management
• You'll bring in your own ideas on how to smarter connect website, data flows, and AI workflows

Qualifikation

What you should bring:

• Fundamental knowledge of WordPress, PHP or JavaScript; HTML and CSS should be familiar to you
• A basic understanding of REST APIs or the motivation to quickly get up to speed
• A structured, independent work style. You document what you build and test carefully
• An interest in KI tools and a willingness to use them productively rather than just experimenting
• Good German language skills in writing and speaking, as many internal processes and content are in German
• A willingness to regularly come to our office in Frankfurt am Main. Homeoffice is possible after coordination

Plus points are:

• Experience with Elementor or the WordPress theme Voxel
• Experience with automation platforms like Make, n8n, or Zapier
• Python knowledge for scripts, data processing, or small internal tools
• Experience with Git, staging environments, or clean deployment workflows
• Interest in KI agents, LLMs, APIs, and AI workflows
