Student Assistant for YouTube Videos on Energy, Mobility & Heating Technology

We are looking for a competent person who supports us in research, script work, and translation of our scripts. Our YouTube channel Norio currently has 300,000 subscribers and reaches an average of over 100,000 views per video.

The WISSKOMMmedia GmbH with its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main has focused on the production of science videos on YouTube, TikTok & co., explaining new developments and research results from the field of energy, mobility & heating technology for a broad audience.

We maintain close cooperation with renowned research institutes and companies, which occasionally requires us to have external meetings throughout Europe.

In our content, we place great value on aesthetics, suspense, and fascination. We use in-house, handmade animations, high-quality content, and add value through creativity.

We do not just want to continue building on our existing project but also professionally open up the English-speaking market.

Tasks

You develop new video concepts and write scripts or script modules on topics from the field of energy, mobility & heating technology.

To do this, you research independently in primary and secondary sources, quickly familiarize yourself with complex issues, and translate them into a clear, exciting, pointed, and scientifically sound narrative. You adapt your formulations to suit both German and English-speaking audiences.

You orient yourself to our established style and dramaturgy, but also receive creative freedom for design.

As the format continues to evolve, you actively bring in ideas and highlight content, structure, and storytelling to take it to the next level.

Qualification

You are currently enrolled in a degree program (or equivalent training) in a MINT field or media/videoproduction. First-hand practical experience in editorial work, research, science communication, or video production is an advantage.

In addition, you possess the following characteristics:

• Error-free German in writing and speaking (C2 level)
• Very good English in writing and speaking (at least B2 level)
• Able to work scientifically sound (research, source evaluation, fact-checking)
• Well-developed understanding of target groups including analysis of needs, knowledge level, and expectation management

We have very frequent opportunities to shoot on location at exciting research institutions. We've already been to the ITER project in southern France, Kopenhagen Atomics in Denmark, the new BMW plant in Hungary or Munich's ASDEX-Upgrade research project.
