Working Student: Product Management (m/f/d)

Part Time Entry Level

Job description

Do you want to learn Product Management not just in theory, but get hands-on right away? In this role, you'll be in the thick of it: You'll ensure that new features are clearly documented, analyze customer feedback and competitors, and test with us how AI can make our daily product work even more efficient. Your work is visible, whether in the release update that goes live, or in the Help Center that assists our users, in a market that is currently reinventing itself completely. If you're keen to experience Product Management from A to Z, we look forward to hearing from you.

epilot digitizes the energy industry with unique cloud software. We are a growing scale-up in the heart of Cologne. Our mission: epilot revolutionizes the collaboration of all market participants who work together in the energy world to provide products and services. Within the cloud world, we offer a large network of partners, which is constantly expanded by the community.

What awaits you

Documentation & Release Communication

  • You will document new features clearly, update existing documentation, and rewrite it as needed.

  • You will actively shape the communication around releases: user flows, short how-to videos, and in-app messages that truly engage our users.

  • You will contribute to the development of a new, AI-powered documentation and communication tool for the epilot Help Center.

Research & Discovery

  • You will examine tools and competitors, create benchmarks, and gather what others are doing well – presented in a structured and clear manner.

  • You will analyze and cluster customer pains to make patterns visible to the team.

AI & Efficiency in Daily PM Work

  • You will experiment with AI tools and agents that make our daily PM work more efficient – skills, automated reports, feature testing, preparation of presentations, and much more. We will discover exactly what together.

  • You will support the team in testing new features.

What you bring

  • You are an enrolled student looking for a working student position with real responsibility and can commit approximately 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.

  • You are a strong communicator and proactive, especially when it comes to the progress of your tasks or your capacity.

  • You enjoy working in a structured and organized manner and can maintain an overview even with multiple topics.

  • Thinking ahead and taking ownership of your topics – this is a matter of course for you.

  • You have an eye for detail.

  • Ideally, you have experience with common digital project and product management tools, such as Jira, Figma, Miro, Power-BI, Claude, Userflow, or similar, and agile working methods (Scrum/Kanban).

  • You have very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.

What we offer you

  • A product with real impact: Our platform accelerates the energy transition – you see what you're working for.

  • Start-up mentality: dynamic atmosphere and great team spirit.

  • AI-first working method: We actively use AI tools in product and daily work – from discovery to documentation – and give you the freedom to try out and implement new tools.

  • A strongly growing company with an open communication culture, motivated colleagues, and an international corporate culture.

  • Exponential learning curve – epilot is growing rapidly, and we expect the same from you.

  • A central and modern location in the heart of Cologne with cool cafes right around the corner.

  • Transparency – We maintain a very flat and open company culture; everything is visible and open for discussion.

  • Regular team events such as for Carnival, the summer party, Christmas party, company breakfast, and much more.

Opportunities to get to know your epilot colleagues outside of working hours.

  • The possibility for mobile, flexible work, sports activities (including Urban Sports Club), and much more.

Still not convinced? Here's our promise to all future epilot employees: promise.epilot.cloud
