Job description

We are looking for a motivated junior lawyer to support our Legal Team in building a strong legal foundation for the applike group. In this hands-on role, you will work on a diverse mix of topics (from data protection and contracts, legal research, to – and most importantly – building Legal AI use cases) in a rapidly growing tech environment (and of course with really nice colleagues). The position is designed for 2 days per week, ideally for at least one year, so that you have enough time to thoroughly familiarize yourself with the topics and achieve real impact.

At applike group, we create market-changing products, technologies, and companies. We have already founded several companies. Our ventures are independent business units that benefit from the technologies, know-how, and market access of each other to become even more successful: adjoe develops a groundbreaking mobile advertising solution that helps app publishers worldwide increase their advertising revenue. justDice is the market leader in mobile gaming loyalty programs. Sunday is a next-generation hybrid-casual mobile game publisher, and justtrack offers unique software to automate the entire mobile user acquisition process. And there's more to come.

Under the umbrella of the media company Bertelsmann, we have access to a global network of experts and strong financial support. If you want to challenge yourself and work in a high-performance yet relaxed environment, you've come to the right place!

Your tasks:

  • Contracts: Draft NDAs and assist in updating the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for the games of our subsidiaries.

  • Data Protection (GDPR): Co-manage our audit tools – send questionnaires to specialist departments, follow up, and check if the measures are actually implemented. For example, research the requirements for consent for email marketing across relevant markets and check how they are applied on our websites and in our emails.

  • Legal Research: Prepare research on topics such as the applicability of the EU Political Advertising Regulation to adjoe, age restrictions in apps, and a variety of other questions where solid groundwork makes a real difference.

  • Compliance & Routine: Support recurring compliance tasks, e.g., HR registrations and checking our imprint.

  • Legal Ops & Legal AI: Monitor developments in Legal AI, develop use cases, and, where sensible, assist in building them (e.g., Google AI Studio integrations, Gems).

  • Organization: Manage our legal templates and keep our Confluence pages up-to-date.

What you bring:

  • You have passed the First State Examination (1. Staatsexamen) or possess a comparable foreign legal degree.

  • You are tech-savvy and quickly grasp new and complex topics.

  • You are motivated to delve deep and familiarize yourself with unfamiliar legal issues.

  • You speak and write German and English fluently and with negotiation skills.

  • You work independently and in a structured manner.

  • You are available 2 days per week, ideally for at least one year (the topics are complex and worth getting deeply involved in).

What we offer you:

  • High Impact, Real Ownership: Be a central part of our Legal Team and experience the impact of your work.

  • Legal AI from Day One: Help shape and build real Legal AI use cases, rather than just watching from the sidelines.

  • Growth and Learning: Develop yourself in an environment that promotes learning, experimentation, and personal development.

  • Flexible Work Culture: Benefit from flexible working hours and the possibility for hybrid work that can be well combined with your studies or legal clerkship.

  • Great Team: Become part of a diverse, international, and highly motivated team that loves what it does.

  • Central Location: Our office is located in the heart of Hamburg — including a really good gym.

  • And much more! (Think team events, snacks, drinks, and a relaxed work atmosphere.)

The application process:

  • 1. Interview with the TA Manager

  • Interview with the General Counsel / Legal Team

  • Meet the team

Our mission is to create an inspiring work environment for amazing people to achieve extraordinary things. Be part of it!

Skip writing cover letters. Tell us about your most passionate personal project, your desired salary, and your earliest possible start date. We are looking forward to your application!

We welcome applications from people who will contribute to the diversity of our company.
