Working Student: Modern Politics (m/f/d)

StoryMachine was founded in Berlin in 2017 and is considered one of Germany's most renowned independent communications agencies. With a team of former editors-in-chief, PR experts, strategists, and creatives, we communicate for our clients on all common platforms. Our clients include international, publicly listed companies, family-owned medium-sized businesses, political parties, associations, venture capitals, family offices, and public bodies from Germany and abroad. StoryMachine handles their communication positioning in Germany, crisis communication, product and brand communication, reputation management, litigation PR, and supports comprehensive transformation processes. The owners of StoryMachine are the two founders Kai Diekmann and Philipp Jessen, Uwe Nickl, CEO Christian Stenzel, and Michael Paustian.

As a Working Student: Modern Politics, you will directly support the Head of Modern Politics and his team in the development and implementation of integrated communication strategies for clients from politics and public affairs. You will gain deep insights into political communication consulting at the highest level and will be assigned independent content-related tasks from the outset.

➡️ Research & Analysis – You will support the research and analysis of current political topics, debates, and relevant stakeholders as a basis for communication strategies.

➡Content Development – You will help develop communication content, core messages, and formats for social media and classic PR measures.

➡️Media Monitoring – You will be responsible for monitoring media and social media coverage and will prepare results for the team.

➡️Appointment & Meeting Preparation – You will support the preparation and follow-up of appointments with key clients as well as internal team meetings.

➡️Presentations & Documents – You will contribute to the creation of presentations, strategy papers, and client documents.

➡️Administrative Support – You will take on administrative and organizational tasks in the daily business of the Modern Politics team.

✅ Ongoing Studies – You are an enrolled student, ideally in Political Science, Communication Science, Public Affairs, or a comparable course of study.

✅ Political Interest – You are interested in politics, current societal debates, and political Berlin.

✅ Digital Competence – You are proficient in MS Office and have experience with social media platforms.

✅ Structured Way of Working – You work independently and in a structured manner and handle sensitive information discreetly.

✅ Team Spirit – You enjoy working with others and approach people openly.

✅ Strong Communication – You convince with clear, friendly communication – both written and oral – and have a positive demeanor.

✅ Language Proficiency – You speak and write fluent German (C2/native speaker level) and have at least good English skills.
