Working Student Climate-Friendly Buses (Data Analysis)

The focus of your activity is the data-based, substantive and organizational support of daily business in commissioning alternative drives for buses in public transport and alternative drives in rail transport for the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV). This includes in particular the implementation of the funding guideline for buses with alternative drives by the BMV. It is also important to take on smaller sub-projects, coordination tasks, and reporting tasks. Specifically, this means:

• With Python and SQL, you will dive deep into the world of data, evaluate it specifically, and gain valuable insights from it.
• You will monitor and analyze market and technology development in the bus sector and keep an eye on current trends and innovations.
• To support market analysis, you will create meaningful visualizations and graphics with Plotly that make complex relationships easily understandable.
• You will develop standardized Python functions for our internal libraries.
• By organizing and systematizing relevant data foundations, you ensure that knowledge is clearly structured and accessible at all times.
• You will research program-relevant information and identify new data sources.
• You will support the team in processing inquiries from politics, business, and research, as well as in preparing and following up on appointments and events.
• You will take on smaller sub-projects, coordination tasks, and reporting tasks and support daily business.

• You are studying Computer Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable degree program.
• You have basic knowledge of Python (especially pandas, Plotly), SQL (Redshift), and Git and want to expand it.
• You are interested in the electrification of public transport – especially concerning buses.
• You already have experience in preparing and visualizing information.
• You are interested in cloud-based IT architectures such as AWS and ideally have gained initial practical experience.
• You want to get to know databases, data architectures, and data processing processes in practice.
• You are proficient in using MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• You distinguish yourself through a structured, reliable, and independent way of working.
• You have very good German language skills.
