We are an energetic team from Freiburg, fully committed to the energy transition and climate-friendly urban development. Our team supports municipalities, grid operators, and energy suppliers with decision-relevant data and software solutions for forward-looking energy planning. But the sustainable city of the future includes more: As a working student in climate adaptation, you will help us strengthen the resilience of cities to climatic changes and develop data-driven solutions for it. Tasks
- Data & Analysis: You will be responsible for data procurement, cleaning, processing, and analysis of geo- and climate data.
- Development & Simulation: You will support us in the development and maintenance of Python-based tools, as well as in the setup and expansion of simulations in Python.
- Evaluation: Independent execution and well-founded analysis of simulation results.
- Research: Research on current topics related to climate adaptation.
- Software Integration: Consideration and preparation of the implementation of your results into our SaaS applications to complement our toolbox as a valuable extension.
Qualification
- You can support us on-site in Freiburg.
- You are studying Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
- You are proficient in using Python and enjoy writing clean, well-structured code.
- Ideally, you have experience with data processing and analysis.
- GIS knowledge is a plus, but not a requirement.
- You work independently, are solution-oriented, and bring your own ideas.
- You are looking for a long-term working student position (at least one semester) with the opportunity for continuous development.
- You are a team player and want to actively contribute to the energy transition.
