Job description

Introduction

With us, AI agents are part of the day-to-day operations of real companies. They check invoices, categorize inquiries, and monitor funding programs. Not in a pitch deck, not in an innovation lab, but every day in German SMEs.

Lucid Labs is an AI-first studio founded by Marek Janetzke, formerly co-founder of Flightright until exit. We work the way we advise: with Claude, n8n, and the best tools for everyday tasks. From idea to customer pilot, it takes us about a week.

Here you will become AI-native before you graduate. Not using AI in term papers, but building AI solutions that run productively in companies. Most of your fellow students will learn this in their first job after graduation. Or not at all.

For this, we are looking for someone who learns quickly. Specifically: You will be given a topic on Monday that you know nothing about. Funding law, invoice processing in plant engineering, an n8n workflow that someone left half-finished. By Wednesday, you will understand enough to ask the right questions in the team. By Friday, there will be something a customer can see.

If this excites you, read on. We hire few working students and turn down most applications. This ad is deliberately written so you know beforehand if it might be a fit.

Tasks

  • Take responsibility for sub-projects in client mandates, from discovery to go-live.

  • Build agent and automation workflows with Claude, n8n, and our internal stack.

  • Discovery research: evaluate public sources, test hypotheses, prepare briefings for initial meetings.

  • Prepare workshops, status updates, and client materials. Clearly, structured, to the point, co-moderate client meetings on-site or via video, take minutes, and send out the next steps the same evening.

  • Improve internal processes: anything that is manually assembled every week.

  • Work across consulting, product, sales, and internal operations where the need is greatest.

No two weeks are the same. This is not a bug, but the reason why you learn quickly here.

Qualifications

What you need to bring

  • Ongoing studies, available for at least twelve months.

  • You have taken responsibility for something outside of your studies, not just participated: in student government, a student consulting firm, a debate club, volunteer work, an initiative, your own project, or a side job.

  • German at C1 level, fluent English. Client communication is in German, and you write to managing directors in German.

  • You can explain complex things simply, both in writing and orally.

  • You already work daily with AI tools. Not as a search engine replacement, but for tasks that you would otherwise have spent hours doing yourself, and you can show how.

  • You live in Berlin and are in the office at Hauptbahnhof on Wednesdays when the team meets.

What is explicitly not necessary

  • A specific field of study. People from Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Law, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Politics, or Philosophy fit well with us. What matters is whether you can quickly learn about new subjects, not what's on your degree.

  • Programming skills. We build prototypes with modern AI tools and without programming. You will learn how to do this with us.

  • Consulting or startup experience.

  • A completed AI project in your portfolio. We are interested in how you think, not what you have already built.

We look at the learning curve, not the starting point.

You fit with us if

  • You have been annoyed by your own poor output in the last two weeks and then improved it.

  • You write a memo in 30 minutes that a managing director can read and understand in five minutes.

  • When faced with a new topic, you don't ask "where do I start", but have already started.

  • Someone tells you "this slide isn't convincing", and your first question is "what's missing?", not "why?".

  • You disagree with the founder if you have an argument, and change your opinion if they have the better one.

  • Your last student job either bored you or showed you what you truly want.

This role is not for you if

  • You are waiting for a clearly structured task list instead of prioritizing yourself.

  • You take honest feedback personally instead of implementing it in the next version. Every draft here is commented on, including the founder's.

  • You prefer filling out templates in client presentations rather than questioning content.

  • You need predictable weeks to work well.

  • You would pass on AI results without verification.

  • You are primarily looking for a well-known name on your resume. You'll get that faster at a large consulting firm.

  • You have not taken responsibility for anything outside of university during your studies. Then an internship is the better next step.

Benefits

  • Become AI-native. You will build the skill that every consulting firm and every company is currently looking for, and apply it every week with real clients, not in a seminar room.

  • Direct impact. No layer between you and the decision-makers: the founder here, the management at the client's. What you propose will be implemented or rejected, not archived.

  • Grow with innovation. New tools don't end up in a roadmap with us, but in a real project in the same week. Whoever finds something that works, shows it.

  • A founder who has done it before. Marek was a co-founder of Flightright until exit. His network to German founder teams and tech companies comes with it.

  • Tooling without budget discussions. Access to Claude, OpenAI, Cursor, and everything else we use ourselves.

  • Compatible with studies. Exam periods mean fewer hours, summer breaks happily more.

  • 22 Euros per hour.

A few more words at the end

Our culture: Ownership instead of micromanagement. We prefer to make a smart bet in two weeks and learn from it, rather than polishing something for three months that no one has validated. We are looking for people who think along, not just work along, and this applies to working students just as much as to everyone else.

Therefore, we treat working students as a talent pipeline, not as cheap labor. You will get real responsibility with real clients, not the tasks that nobody else wants to do. Those who convince us here have three realistic paths after graduation: permanent employment as a Consultant or Product Builder, a recommendation to our network of founder teams, top consultancies, and German tech scale-ups, or starting their own company with sparring and, if necessary, angel investment from the founder network.

How to apply.

Send us two things:

  1. Your resume.

  2. An example in a maximum of two paragraphs: a task where you achieved a better result with AI than you would have achieved alone. Include the anonymized prompt, what didn't work on the first try, what you changed as a result, and how you checked if the result was truly good.

  3. One sentence: the achievement outside of your studies that you are most proud of, and what would have been missing without you.

The second and third parts are more important to us than the resume. No cover letter needed.

Please do not send any confidential data from previous employers or clients.

We look forward to getting to know you,
