In Germany, there are over 3.3 million multi-family homes – and they are the black hole of the energy transition. 1% solar penetration. 2% smart metering. Little flexibility or intelligent energy management.

Simultaneously, regulation forces owners to make massive investments: Solar will become mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out across the country within the next 5 years, heating and mobility are electrifying themselves. The multi-family home is becoming an active part of the decentralized energy infrastructure.

What's missing is a comprehensive system that makes this transformation economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering operations with its own software and enables property owners to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants – simply and without becoming an energy supplier (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory pressure into a profitable and planned opportunity:

• Doubling returns and value appreciation for property owners,
• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and
• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps, and flexibility.

We already manage a three-digit number of projects – including the largest portfolio holders and housing associations – across all 16 federal states. This makes us one of the leading providers in the market within a short time.

Aufgaben

Mission der Rolle
You support our Energy Operations Team in the operational implementation and further development of our customer projects.

Your goal: Projects structured forward, internal processes scalable, and data-based decisions enabled. In doing so, you will develop a deep understanding of energy projects, operations, and business setup.

1. Support in implementing energy projects

• You support the operational and technical implementation of ongoing customer projects – from signature to successful realization
• You work closely with internal teams and external partners and help ensure smooth project workflows
• You take over standalone sub-projects and ensure structured documentation and tracking

2. Support in building & further developing our Operating Models

• You analyze existing processes and identify complexity and optimization potential
• You help structure decision-making processes and set up operational procedures
• You support the development of scalable structures, standards, and templates for operational projects

3. Process optimization & internal structures

• You develop internal processes and tools (e.g., in Airtable) further to increase operative efficiency and scalability
• You identify improvement potential in existing workflows and set concrete optimizations, e.g., through automations
• You take over cross-sectional special projects in the areas of organization, tooling, and internal structures

Qualifikation

• You have already gained first experiences in Consulting (Tier 1/Tier 2), High-Growth Start-ups (ideally Operations or Process Optimization), or Project Management through internships
• You are currently studying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as economics, business administration, or energy management
• You think entrepreneurially, make independent decisions, and set clear priorities with a focus on impact, scalability, and long-term company success
• You bring an outstanding interest in start-ups, energy, or real estate
• You want to take responsibility in a fast-paced, founder-near environment, build structures, and actively shape growth
• You strive to become the best version of yourself and seek environments where you can unfold your full potential
• You are willing to relocate to Berlin – our office is our home base
• You speak German and English fluently
