Working Student AI Agent Developer

Do you have experience with AI and want to apply it to real customer projects? With us, you will build AI Agents that go into production. No proof-of-concepts for the drawer.

We are an AI startup from Berlin, specializing in automation in customer service. We build AI Agents, Voicebots, and automation solutions for companies in the German small and medium-sized enterprise sector. Founded in 2023 by Oscar Schwarz and Ludwig Sickert, we are currently a team of about 10 people. With AIdapt, we have our own SaaS product that analyzes and measurably improves AI Agents.

Tasks

This role is not for you if you only want to work at a conceptual level. With us, AI Agent Development means: writing code, debugging APIs, implementing conversation flows, integrating systems – hands-on, with direct impact on real customer projects.

You will work on the development of real AI agents that go into production. This means:

• Development of AI Agents: Building and implementing chat and voice agents on platforms such as Parloa, Cognigy, Telli, or comparable Conversational AI systems
• Backend Integration: Connecting and configuring external systems via APIs (REST, SOAP, Webhooks)
• Testing & Optimization: Conducting tests, debugging, and continuous improvement of agent performance
• Technical Documentation: Creating technical documentation for implementations and integrations
• Customer Projects: Direct involvement in real customer projects

Qualifications

• Studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Computational Linguistics, or a related technical field
• Basic programming skills (ideally Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) and understanding of APIs and backend systems
• You are willing to dive into technical challenges and find solutions
• Enthusiasm for AI Agents, Large Language Models, and modern Conversational AI technologies
• Hands-on mentality: You don't just want to plan, you want to implement yourself
• Good German and English language skills
• Availability of 15-20 hours per week

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Conversational AI platforms (Parloa, Cognigy, Voiceflow, etc.)
• Experience with workflow automation platforms like n8n or Make
• Understanding of customer service processes
• Initial experience with LLMs and prompt engineering
