Working Student - Website & Inbound Marketing (m/f/d)

Part Time Senior

Job description

Why this role exists

AI agents are running in the day-to-day operations of our clients. They review documents, categorize requests, and prepare decisions. Not in a pitch deck, but productively in the German Mittelstand (mid-sized companies).

We've gained attention by now: Through LinkedIn, keynotes, and trade fairs, appointment requests from managing directors, speaking invitations, and messages are coming in. What happens next is not currently established by anyone. You will own this exact process from the first inquiry to the appointment in the calendar.

That's why the role isn't called Social Media. It's not measured by reach, but by response times and appointments.

Who you are writing for

Managing directors, department heads, and directors of medium-sized companies in the fields of mechanical engineering, insurance, logistics, and retail. They've heard a lot about AI and seen little that works in everyday life. They don't read English buzzwords and they have ten minutes. Writing for these people is a discipline in itself: a wrong tone costs the appointment.

Tasks

40% Website

The channel through which inquiries actually come in.

  • Operatively support website relaunch: content, structure, testing
  • Incorporate references and case studies so it becomes tangible what we are building — and not just what we are talking about
  • Keep the career page up-to-date; we are constantly hiring
  • Build landing pages for lead magnets and webinars
  • Triage and follow up on incoming inquiries
  • The website portion is realistically 40% during our upcoming relaunch and will decrease to about 20% maintenance afterwards. The freed-up time will go back to inbox and mid-funnel.

30% LinkedIn Inbox

You will manage our LinkedIn inbox with our existing AI reply skill. Qualified conversations are forwarded with context to our founder, and you will handle everything else yourself. Within the first six weeks, you will clear the existing backlog to zero and keep HeyReach and HubSpot clean so that the daily morning routine is effective.

With six hours per week, this is not manageable by hand. It works because our reply skill provides drafts, and you check, refine, and send them — and because you will further develop this skill yourself.

20% Mid Funnel

Everything between the first contact and the first appointment.

  • Newsletter: Set up and schedule the workflow in ConvertKit
  • Webinars: Manage the surrounding funnel — invitations, reminders, recordings, follow-ups
  • Lead Magnets: Keep the maturity check and AI Benchmark Engine running and optimized
  • Follow-ups: Systematically follow up on contacts from trade fairs and events instead of letting them drift away

10% Content

You are the point of contact for our content agency: align topics, provide raw material, proofread drafts, obtain approvals. The rhythm is managed by you.

  • Create carousels and infographics from our own material, e.g., ROI calculator, prioritization matrix, agent autonomy matrix
  • Create the corresponding series after every speaking engagement

Structure

Three fixed mornings that we will determine together based on your timetable. We care about predictability, not specific weekdays: without reliable presence during core working hours, response times cannot be met.

Qualification

What you bring

  • You are currently enrolled in studies, with the field of study being secondary. The role is also conceivable as part-time for career starters.
  • You write German at a native level. Clearly, concisely, and you hit the right tone when a managing director replies.
  • You work agentically rather than manually: you build your own skills from recurring tasks. Our internal expectation is two skills per person per month, and this applies from day one.
  • You can handle sales. This role is the first contact with real potential buyers, not content production from a distance from the customer.
  • You can manage the CMS yourself: create pages, maintain content, test thoroughly.
  • You bring speed instead of perfection. No one solves a backlog with a conceptual phase.
  • You can work 20 hours per week, including three fixed mornings that we will determine together based on your timetable. Your English is fluent.

What you don't need

No marketing degree, no agency experience, no portfolio, no design education, no programming skills, and no experience with Mittelstand clients. You will learn the tools, target audience, and methods in the first few weeks with us.

Nice to have: Experience with Canva or Figma, with email marketing, CRM, or outbound tools, or exposure to classic Mittelstand from internships, family businesses, or apprenticeships.

You are a particularly good fit for us if...

  • ... you perceive an open inquiry as something that needs to be answered today.
  • ... when doing the same hand movements for the third time, you start automating them instead of enduring them.
  • ... with a bad text, you immediately see what makes it bad and rewrite it, instead of discussing it.
  • ... you can become interested in industries that no one talks about on LinkedIn: claims adjusting, spare parts logistics, offer calculation.
  • We work ambitiously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Those who communicate openly and can laugh at their own mistakes usually fit in better with us than those who only want to appear professional.

This role is not for you if...

  • ... you want to be the classic marketing working student who builds editorial plans.
  • ... you want to write for the startup and tech bubble. Our counterparts are in companies that have been around for forty years.
  • ... direct contact with potential buyers makes you uncomfortable.
  • ... you cannot reliably adhere to fixed mornings.
  • ... you prefer writing concepts & strategies over clearing an inbox.

Benefits

  • **Ownership instead of support.** You own the entire process from inquiry to appointment. No marketing team above you, no hierarchy level between you and the decision-makers — and no step-by-step instructions. Not automatically the most senior person is right here.
  • Close to real customers. You don't write about a persona. You respond to managing directors, hear their questions first, and then use their words instead of ours.
  • AI-native working, before everyone else can. You don't just work with AI; you build the tools for it yourself — with the same stack we sell to our clients: Claude, OpenAI, Cursor, n8n. Most of your fellow students will learn this in their first job after graduation. Or not.
  • The environment. Berlin as a base with a modern office at Edge Co-working near Hauptbahnhof, flexibly remote outside of fixed mornings. You can reduce hours during exam periods and increase them during semester breaks.
  • Perspective. We view working students as a long-term talent pipeline, not as cheap additional capacity. If it's a good fit, there's a realistic prospect for you in Marketing, Demand Generation, or Sales with us after graduation.

Who we are

Lucid Labs is an AI-first studio for applied AI in the German Mittelstand. We not only advise on the selection of use cases but also develop and operate solutions that run productively in real processes. Founder Marek Janetzke previously co-founded Flightright and helped guide it to a successful exit.

Our culture in one sentence:

Think along instead of just executing. Plain text instead of buzzwords. Implement instead of slide decks.

Application and Selection

Step 1. Resume and a short example of a maximum of two paragraphs. No cover letter needed.

In it, describe a task where you achieved a better result with AI than you could have achieved alone: how you approached it, what didn't work on the first try, what you changed, and how you knew it was better. The example is more important to us than the resume.

Step 2. Initial 30-minute get-to-know-you with the team.

Step 3. Work sample with a scope of approximately two hours, intentionally close to the actual work.

Step 4. Interview with the founder.

Please do not share confidential data from previous employers or clients.

We look forward to hearing from you.
