Job description

Company

At Wahtari nScan, we teach machines to see. We develop AI-powered image processing systems for automatic quality control in industry – completely from a single source: from the hardware on the production line to the software and the deep learning models behind it. We combine classic image processing with modern AI and real mechanical engineering know-how – and reliably detect errors in real-time, even where other solutions reach their limits. We are a compact, technology-enthusiastic team of developers, designers, and tinkerers, where every good idea counts and you see the impact of your work every day.

Area of Responsibility

  • You will work on our customer projects, supporting development and design in the setup, testing, and preparation of our inspection systems
  • You will get hands-on with prototypes, test setups, and assemblies, learning about mechanics, electronics, and software firsthand
  • You will contribute your own ideas and actively shape our processes – from warehousing and procurement to project organization
  • You will be responsible for the procurement of parts and components, obtaining quotes, and keeping an eye on delivery dates
  • You will help ensure that materials are available exactly when they are needed – we work lean and order just-in-time. This also includes goods receiving, shipping, and order picking for customer projects

Benefits

  • Real perspective: We focus on long-term collaboration and are happy to permanently employ good people – with the chance to grow into development, projects, or operations
  • Variety instead of routine: You will work directly with development, design, and management, gaining real insights into industrial AI projects
  • Room for your own ideas: If you can do something better, you are welcome to implement it
  • Flexible working hours that adapt to your studies, including during exam periods
  • Fair compensation
  • Monthly €50 tax-free benefit in kind (e.g., wellpass, fuel card, fitness subsidy, Deutschlandticket, etc.)
  • Short distances, flat hierarchies, and a team that is looking forward to meeting you
  • The opportunity to complete your internship semester or thesis with us

Requirements Profile

  • You are an enrolled student, preferably in a technical field such as mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or industrial engineering
  • You have a good basic technical understanding and a genuine interest in mechanics, electronics, or software
  • Ideally, you are a maker: you enjoy tinkering, soldering, 3D printing, or working on your own projects in your free time
  • You are motivated, eager to learn new things, and willing to pitch in everywhere – including sometimes in the warehouse
  • You work independently and in a structured manner, and can keep an overview even with many topics at once
  • You are proficient with Excel & Co.
  • You can work 15-20 hours per week on-site in Haar
