Who we are

Nhas City Chicken is a modern Halal chicken brand with locations in Berlin and Cologne. What began as a family business in 1993 is today a brand with its own digital products – and a clear vision: We want to show how modern gastronomy can work.

Instead of just relying on ready-made solutions, we develop our own:

• NhasOS – our software for operations: shift planning, time tracking, invoice approvals, inventory. During goods receipt, the team records quantities and the delivery note photo, and the stock is updated automatically.
• Our customer app for iOS and Android: Guests select a time slot, order in advance, pay in the app, and check in via QR code.
• Website in 10 languages and order portal with pre-ordering and online payment.

We work intensively with AI tools like Claude Code – they are an integral part of our daily development routine.

Time slots, prices, payments, deliveries, stock levels: there's logic everywhere that needs to be correct. And we have many plans. For this, we are looking for students who not only want to write code but also want to contribute to shaping things.

What you will do with us

• Develop new features for the order portal – in the frontend and in the API that our customer app also uses
• Further develop NhasOS, e.g., invoice approvals, inventory, or digital checklists
• Develop and maintain interfaces, e.g., the till connection that is currently being created
• Write tests for time slot and price logic
• Automate internal processes, for example with Python and APIs
• Accompany ideas from the first sketch to everyday restaurant use

What you bring with you

• You are enrolled at a university – in computer science, business informatics, media informatics, or another field where you program (e.g., mathematics, physics, industrial engineering)
• First practical programming experience and interest in modern web technologies – whether from university, work, or personal projects
• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development: You regularly use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in your projects – ideally, you have already worked extensively with Claude Code and agent-based workflows.
• You maintain control: You use AI purposefully from conception through development to troubleshooting and optimization. You understand the code it writes, critically review it, and further develop it yourself – and you enjoy trying out new tools.
• You independently learn new things, ask questions when you get stuck, and contribute your own ideas
• Good German or English language skills. German is a plus because you coordinate with the teams in our restaurants

What we work with: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, Supabase, Stripe, Hono on Cloudflare Workers, Vitest. For internal tools: Python. You don't have to know our entire tech stack. Solid fundamentals and the willingness to learn are important.

You don't have to know everything. What matters is that you want to make a difference and learn.

Framework conditions

• Remuneration: €17–€20 gross per hour, depending on prior knowledge and practical experience
• Working hours: 15–20 hours/week, as flexible as possible and compatible with your studies
• Work location: on-site in Berlin
• Start: by arrangement
• Supervision: You will work directly with our Lead Developer
