Student Assistant Software Development - Internal Tools & Automation (m/w/d)
Job description
The Südvolt GmbH is a dynamic company in Munich, actively driving the energy transition. As part of the renowned BKW Group, we benefit from a strong network and comprehensive expertise in the energy sector. With our virtual power plant, we connect decentralized energy generators and make a decisive contribution to a sustainable energy system.
Aufgaben
Your tasks:
- You develop internal tools and small web apps together with us – from Python backend over PostgreSQL database to React frontend.
- You automate recurring workflows and help simplify our business processes.
- You take on – if you're up for it – also independent planning of smaller features or tools. Those who think ahead and want to take responsibility will get the space to do so here.
- You bring yourself in testing and documenting.
Qualifikation
Your profile:
- You work independently and structured, and have a desire to learn new things.
- You are enrolled in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable MINT subject.
- You have practical experience with software development – regardless of the language or stack.
- You speak very good German (at least C1). Many of our internal documents and processes exist only in German.
- You bring interest in the energy sector and the electricity market.
Nice to have:
- Experience with React or frontend basics (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
- Basic knowledge of SQL or relational databases
- Experience with Git
- Docker/containerization
What's more important than a complete checkmark set is that you think independently and enjoy solving problems.
Benefits
How we work:
We intensively focus on modern KI-supported development, especially Claude Code. At the same time, it's important to us that you really learn programming from scratch here – you should understand what you're building and not just generate code. For this, we take the time.
What we offer:
- Real responsibility: your own tasks in productive projects – and the opportunity to bring in your own ideas
- Modern working: with current tech stack (Python, PostgreSQL, React) and KI-supported development – plus the time to really learn the craft behind it
- Flexible working hours: that adapt to your studies and exam phases.
- Hybrid working: possible
- Sense-making work: on one of the most exciting topics of our time: the energy transition
- Payout: 17-20 €/h, depending on experience.
Framework conditions:
- Scope: up to 20 hours a week, flexible – in the semester break, more is possible.
- Location: Munich-Laim
- Start: upon agreement
- Duration: limited to 12 months, extension possible

Then we look forward to your application by email – a CV is enough for now, no classic cover letter needed. If you've already built something (GitHub, a university project, a small script), show it to us.
