Job description
Become part of our Northern Europe People Enablement Team and gain practical experience in a regional HR function at SumUp. As a working student, you will support People Operations in Germany and help manage contracts, HR administration, benefits, HR systems, and payroll processes. It is a great opportunity to gain practical HR experience while contributing to a team that helps shape the implementation of People Operations in five countries.

Your Tasks
- Process employee inquiries via our People Team Service Desk and keep HRIS data in Workday up-to-date.
- Manage the administration of employment contracts – including the creation and modification of contracts as well as tracking signatures.
- Manage benefits administration holistically – from registrations and updates in Workday, communication with the payroll team, to processing invoices.
- Organize, digitize, and archive incoming physical mail and confidential employee documents.
- Support the payroll team with data quality tasks and simple Excel-based evaluations, as your capacity allows.
You are a good fit for this role if you…
- Are fluent in spoken and written German and English – this is essential for daily communication and document processing.
- Work with great attention to detail and manage confidential information with a high degree of accuracy.
- Are proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Are able to organize multiple recurring tasks independently, possessing good time management and strong organizational skills.
- Have been enrolled at a university for at least three semesters, bring a proactive attitude, and have a genuine interest in People Operations or HR.
You will work closely with experienced People Experts, gain insights into regional HR processes in multiple countries, and acquire valuable experience in the fast-growing fintech industry.
