Working Student (m/f/d) Software Development Go / IoT & Energy

At init Energy, we develop the smart logic for intelligent energy management systems. In short, we write algorithms that control battery storage, electric cars, flexible consumers, and generation plants in a way that they operate as cost-effectively and grid-friendly as possible.

To support our development team, we are looking for a motivated tech talent who is eager to connect smart devices with our software! You don't have to be a Go pro yet – if you have programming experience, we will give you the time to learn the language with us. What's important is that you enjoy implementing things practically and work reliably.

Tasks

As a working student (m/f/d), you will be fully integrated into the team and support us with real core tasks:

• Device Integration: You will help us connect various hardware components (e.g., inverters, wallboxes, and heat pumps) to our Go application.
• Interfaces & Data Flows: You will work on APIs and ensure that communication between the devices and our system runs smoothly.
• Testing & Further Development: You will test new functions directly in practice and further develop our existing code.
• Troubleshooting: You will analyze errors, make minor adjustments to the code, and work with the team on clever technical solutions.

Qualification

• You are studying computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical degree program.
• You have initial programming experience and ideally have already worked with Go (Golang) – or you are very eager to learn Go with us!
• You have an independent way of working and enjoy not just planning things theoretically but implementing them directly in practice.
• Bonus (not a must!): You are interested in connected systems (IoT) or energy technology.
