Job description

Bielefeld · 15–20 hours/week · €18–22/hour · Primarily on-site

Are you studying design and finally want to work on projects that are actually implemented? Do you have a good eye for typography, colors, and layouts, love meticulously designed digital interfaces, and want to develop your skills in practice?

Then we should get to know each other.

We are Digitale Offensive, a small, owner-managed digital agency in Bielefeld. We design and develop websites, online shops, and digital applications for companies from all over Germany.

With us, you won't be working somewhere in the background, but will be part of a well-coordinated team. You will get your own tasks, can contribute your ideas, and learn directly from experienced colleagues.

Our office is located in Haus Wellensiek, a former church very close to HSBI and the University of Bielefeld.

What you will do with us

You will support us in the visual design and further development of digital projects. Depending on your skills and interests, you will increasingly take on your own tasks.

  • You will design appealing and functional user interfaces for websites, online shops, and web applications.

  • You will design layouts, pages, and digital components with a special focus on typography, colors, spacing, and visual hierarchies.

  • You will create screen designs, components, and interactive prototypes in Figma.

  • You will help to build, maintain, and improve consistent design systems.

  • You will develop ideas on how digital interfaces can be improved in terms of design, functionality, and accessibility.

  • You will work closely with design and development and experience how your design becomes a finished digital product.

It's not about you mastering everything already. What's important to us is that you enjoy good design and want to develop professionally.

What you should bring

  • You are studying Communication Design, Media Design, Digital Design, Interface Design, or a comparable degree program.

  • You have a strong sense of aesthetics, typography, colors, proportions, and layout.

  • You ideally have some initial experience with Figma.

  • You are interested in contemporary digital design and pay attention to the details that make good design.

  • You understand that a beautiful interface must also be understandable and easy to use.

  • You work carefully, think proactively, and enjoy contributing your own ideas.

  • You enjoy exchanging ideas with others and value constructive feedback.

What particularly interests us are your works. Whether it's a study project, your own design, or an already implemented website: we want to see how you design and what thoughts you have behind it.

You don't have to be a finished professional yet.

What awaits you with us

You will work on tasks whose results are actually used. Your designs won't disappear into a drawer but will be incorporated into real customer projects.

Personal Mentorship

You will receive direct feedback and professional support from experienced colleagues. We take time to look at designs together, question solutions, and develop good ideas further.

A Small Team with Short Communication Channels

With us, there are no complicated hierarchies or long coordination loops. Design, development, and project management work closely together. You will see how a digital agency works and can make a difference yourself.

A Workplace Where People Enjoy Coming Together

We prefer to work together in our office in Haus Wellensiek. Especially for professional exchange, spontaneous questions, and collaborative design, personal cooperation is important to us.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who wants to work primarily on-site in Bielefeld. Occasional home office is possible by arrangement.

Flexibility for Your Studies

We will coordinate your working hours with your schedule. During the semester, you will work about 15–20 hours per week; during semester breaks, more is possible by arrangement.

Fair Pay

Depending on your qualifications and prior experience, you will receive 18–22 Euros per hour.

Room to Learn and Experiment

You are not just here to complete tasks but also to grow professionally. We welcome new perspectives, fresh ideas, and people who question things.

Sounds like a good side job?

Then we want to get to know you!

Apply directly here via JOIN. We would be particularly pleased to receive work samples or a link to your portfolio.

You don't need a formal cover letter. We are primarily interested in how you design, what excites you, and what you are keen to do.

We look forward to your application!
