HITS.NRW is a newly founded, central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Our mission: Together with universities of applied sciences and state art and music academies, we shape the future of university IT. To achieve this, we develop nationwide scalable services from the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Software, and IT Procurement. We ensure modern, secure, and efficient solutions – so that universities can focus on teaching, art, and science while protecting sensitive data.

In your role, you will be part of this environment and support us in developing a reliable and future-oriented digital working place for our employees. You will gain practical experience in IT support, work with modern tools, and gain insights into the use of open-source solutions in the public sector.

What to expect

You will support our team in daily IT operations and shape the digital working place actively with:

• Support for employees with questions and problems regarding Windows 11 devices
• Participation in the rollout and configuration of software solutions
• Analysis and solution of technical challenges in the work environment
• Creation of short, understandable instructions for using and setting up applications
• Support in maintaining systems and checking configurations
• Participation in documentation, evaluations, and presentations

What you bring

• Ongoing studies, ideally with an IT focus or strong interest in technical topics
• Familiarity with Windows 11 and a basic understanding of technology
• Interest in IT support and digital working environments
• Pasión for open-source software and themes of digital sovereignty
• Will to learn new tools and applications
• First experiences with free software (OSS) or Linux, as well as knowledge of applications such as Nextcloud, Thunderbird, LibreOffice, or Element are advantageous
