You'll support our development engineers at our site in Cologne in designing, programming, and testing innovative control systems and software solutions.

Join us as: Student Assistant in Software Development (m/w/d)

Tasks

• Supporting the development process: You'll accompany our software engineers in programming and optimizing embedded software (e.g., in C/C++) or applications.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: You'll support setting up and conducting automated software tests, as well as troubleshooting directly at our control systems.
• Code Documentation: You'll document test results and software architectures carefully and maintain our code repositories (e.g., via Git).
• Technical Research: You'll take on research into new software tools, libraries, or IoT protocols and test their feasibility in small prototypes.

Qualification

• Ongoing studies: You're pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Initial professional knowledge: Ideally, you have initial experiences with a common programming language (e.g., C, C++, Python, or Java), embedded systems (e.g., CORTEX-A, STM32), and a basic understanding of software engineering principles.
• Passion for technology: Enjoy logical thinking and interest in the interface between software and hardware (Embedded Systems).
• Soft Skills: A structured, self-responsible work style, analytical thinking, and excellent teamwork skills.
• Languages: Good German language skills and ideally English language skills in writing and speaking.
