Job description
Your Responsibilities
At NYALA, you will support the further development of our offering from a legal perspective. You will learn to implement regulatory requirements and communicate them with the supervisory authorities. In doing so, you will apply the existing legal framework from eWpG, eWpRV, KWG, and GwG, further develop our products within this framework, accompany current legislative developments with us, and actively influence the further development of legislation for blockchain technology through statements and consultations. This gives you the opportunity not only to apply the applicable regulations to concrete company matters (and to do so comprehensively and creatively, unlike in a law firm, not just within the scope of a limited advisory mandate) but also to actively shape future developments.
In day-to-day operations, you will work directly for the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, Compliance Officer, and Risk Officer, prepare matters for decision-making, and keep track of deadlines, measures, and follow-ups.
In the area of reporting, you will create templates for reports to company stakeholders, maintain key figures and analyses, keep policies, manuals, and work instructions up to date, and support annual financial statements and special audits.
Your Profile
You are passionate about technology, especially DLT, believe in the revolutionary potential of blockchain in the financial system, and are interested in capital markets law issues. We do not expect complete prior knowledge of eWpG, GwG, and KWG; a large part of this legal framework is only a few years old and is constantly evolving. We expect meticulous attention to detail, reliability with deadlines, the ability to write down complex issues concisely and understandably, and discretion in handling customer and company data. Fluent German is required for correspondence with supervisory authorities and in reporting, while English is an advantage for correspondence with international clients and for interpreting legal texts.
Why Us?
At NYALA, Compliance is not just a downstream control function, but a prerequisite for the business model: without reliable record-keeping and legally sound procedures, there is no crypto security. Therefore, you will not be working on a small part, but will see the complete cycle – from onboarding an issuer through registration to reporting to management and supervision.
The Smart Registry as an institution offers excellent conditions for looking beyond the obvious: Many of our products are only made possible by new laws and are developed in collaboration with our clients. In February 2024, we were the first crypto security register leader to register electronic shares according to the eWpG.
Become part of a motivated, tech-savvy, and international team with a strong corporate culture, located directly on Ku'damm in Berlin. We offer you onboarding directly by the officers, direct access to management – and the perspective to grow into topics autonomously. Those looking for a large, divided compliance department are in the wrong place; those who want early responsibility and an unusually complete view of a regulated business are in the right place.
