Working Student in Legal / Compliance (m/f/d)

At NYALA, you will support the further development of our offering from a legal perspective. You will learn to implement regulatory requirements and communicate with regulatory authorities regarding them. You will apply the existing legal framework from eWpG, eWpRV, KWG, and GwG, further develop our products within this framework, accompany current legislative developments with us, and actively influence the further development of legislation for blockchain technology through statements and consultations. This gives you the opportunity not only to apply the applicable regulations to specific company situations (and to do so comprehensively and proactively, unlike in a law firm with a limited advisory mandate) but also to actively shape future developments.
In day-to-day operations, you will work directly for the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, Compliance Officer, and Risk Officer, prepare factual situations for decision-making, and track deadlines, measures, and follow-ups.
In the area of reporting, you will create templates for reports to internal stakeholders, maintain key figures and analyses, keep policies, manuals, and work instructions up-to-date, and support annual financial statements and special audits.

You are passionate about technology, especially DLT, believe in the revolutionary potential of blockchain in the financial system, and are interested in capital market law issues. We do not expect complete prior knowledge of eWpG, GwG, and KWG; a large part of this legal framework is itself only a few years old and is constantly evolving. We expect attention to detail, commitment to deadlines, the ability to concisely and understandably document complex issues, and discretion in handling customer and company data. Fluent German is required for correspondence with supervisory authorities and for reporting, while English is an advantage for correspondence with international clients and for interpreting legal texts.

At our company, compliance is not just a downstream control function but a prerequisite for the business model: without reliable record-keeping and legally compliant processes, there are no crypto securities. Therefore, you will not be working on a segment, but will see the complete cycle – from the initial contact with an issuer to its inclusion in the register and reporting to management and supervision.
