Job description
About District 70
District 70 develops stylish, functional, and quality products for pets. With an eye for design, ease of use, and detail, we create products that are not only pleasant for pets but also fit beautifully into their owners' interiors.
From product development and packaging design to the final presentation: design plays an important role at District 70. To ensure that our products and packaging look good down to the smallest details, we are looking for reinforcements for our creative team.
The Role
Are you a precise and creative student with a feel for graphic design? Do you enjoy working with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and do you have an eye for the smallest details? Then we are looking for you! For District 70, we are looking for an enthusiastic working student to support us part-time with adapting, laying out, and preparing packaging designs and artworks for production.
You will work closely with our Visual Designer and be involved in a variety of graphic and DTP tasks. From processing new texts, logos, and product information to adapting existing packaging designs and preparing files for production.
This role is not just about creativity, but above all about precision. You have an eye for the smallest details, work in a structured manner, and ensure that every artwork is technically and visually perfect.
What will you do?
Adapt and lay out existing packaging designs in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Add, modify, or replace texts, logos, icons, barcodes, and other graphic elements
Accurately process and check product information and multilingual texts
Lay out and adapt master carton and inner carton artworks (shipping marks)
Maintain the existing house style and consistency in terms of typography, composition, alignment, and proportions
Prepare artworks for print and production, paying attention to color usage, bleed, resolution, and dielines
Process corrections and feedback and carefully check files before they go to production
Clearly manage and archive files, versions, and correction rounds
Independently identify and discuss errors, discrepancies, and missing information
What do you bring?
You are pursuing an MBO or HBO education in the direction of Graphic Design, Media Design, Graphic Design, DTP, Communication & Multimedia Design, or similar
Good knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
You have knowledge of or affinity with DTP, packaging design, and print preparation
You are familiar with technical terms such as CMYK, Pantone, bleed, resolution, vector files, dielines, and print-ready PDFs
You have a good sense of typography, composition, and visual consistency
You master the Dutch and English languages well, both orally and in writing.
What do we offer?
A varied part-time role of 8 to 16 hours per week
A competitive salary depending on knowledge and experience
Flexible working hours, easily combinable with your studies
The opportunity to gain practical experience with packaging design, DTP, and artwork production
Room to further develop your graphic and technical skills
The chance to contribute to the image of a design-oriented pet brand.
