Student Assistant (gn) for Automation Technology and 3D Vision

The 3D-aero GmbH is a tech company from Hamburg with about 70 employees and has been a proud part of the MTU Aero Engines AG since December 2024 – one of the world's leading companies in the aerospace industry. We develop customized automation solutions for aircraft production and other industrial sectors. In doing so, we use optical sensor technology and modern industrial robots together with KI-based data processing to develop tailored systems for our customers.

We are looking for a Student Assistant (gn) for Automation Technology and 3D Vision who will help us develop automation systems of the future. As a student assistant, you will work with our Research & Product Development Team on innovative projects that shape the future!

Tasks

• Co-Design and Development: You support us in product development and research on our innovative automation systems and 3D vision technologies.
• Prototype Construction: Construction and assembly of prototypes and test rigs – your work directly contributes to product development.
• In-Situ Commissioning: Together with our team, you bring our prototypes and test rigs online.
• Software Integration: You configure and optimize our in-house software framework 3D.OS for specific prototypes or test rigs.
• Error Analysis and Optimization: You support error correction and continuous improvement of our automation systems.

Qualification

• Studies with a focus on Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
• Hands-on mentality and a structured and solution-oriented working style
• Interest in optical measurement technology and industrial robotics
• Basic programming knowledge (C#, Python) and a secure handling of common CAD programs (e.g. Autodesk Inventor)
• Very good German and good English skills
