Your Area of Responsibility

• In this role, you will work closely with our Data Protection Officer and our CTO. You will actively take on the operational implementation of our data protection and IT compliance measures in daily business and at the interface with international regulations (GDPR, US university requirements such as HECVAT, SOC 2):
• Knowledge Base & Processes: You will build a central Trust & Compliance Knowledge Base for security and data protection issues and establish a sustainable update process together with the CTO.
• Contract & Evidence Register: You will create an overview of our customer contracts (standard vs. individual agreements, DPA), analyze deviations, and store certificates and evidence from our service providers (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Tool & Pre-screening: You will review and triage requests for new IT and AI tools based on checklists and create decision templates.
• Record of Processing Activities & Documentation: You will independently drive forward the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and maintain deletion concepts, TOM documentation, and the incident register.
• Deadline & Interface Management: You will keep track of data subject requests, certificate expirations, and deadlines. You will also support the preparation of subprocessor notifications, English-language compliance questionnaires (HECVAT, VPAT), and training materials.

Your Profile

• You are enrolled in a Master's program, preferably in Business Law, Business Informatics, Business Administration, or a comparable degree program with an IT or legal focus. If you are studying Law (in the main study phase after the intermediate examination), you ideally have a specialization in IT, data protection, or contract law.
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
• You have at least 15 to 20 hours per week available and are ideally available for at least 12 months.
• You use AI tools routinely and critically in your daily work and are interested in topics such as IT infrastructure and security (experience with automations like n8n or Zapier is a plus).
• You work precisely and conscientiously with deadlines and contracts, have structured self-organization, and follow up assertively at interfaces.
• Initial exposure to the GDPR is advantageous, but not a must – thorough training is a matter of course for us.

Framework Conditions

• Scope: at least 15, maximum 20 hours per week during the semester; more during semester breaks by arrangement
• Compensation: €20 per hour
• Location: fully remote within Germany, optionally hybrid in the Leipzig office
• Reporting Line: directly to our Data Protection Officer, with fixed weekly meetings, and close collaboration with the CTO
• Confidentiality: The role has access to customer contracts, security documentation, and personal data.
