Job description

syte uses complex algorithms that calculate building metrics based on 3D point clouds and 3D models. Typical examples of relevant metrics include floor area, number of floors, volume, and building heights. To ensure rapid development cycles and to be able to quantitatively and automatically evaluate changes to algorithms at the push of a button, syte relies on high-quality QA data. To systematically expand and strengthen this dataset, and thus develop the foundation on which our algorithms are measured, we are looking for you as a Working Student Data QA & Algorithm Benchmarking (m/f/d) as soon as possible in Münster. Your Tasks

Ground Truth Audit: You evaluate the correctness of existing test data and identify new metrics that we can use for algorithm evaluation.
Hunting Edge Cases: You identify new test data for challenging buildings (e.g., complex roof shapes, trees above rooftops) and integrate them into the overall dataset.
Data Sourcing: You identify potential sources for new test datasets and integrate them as automated as possible.
Benchmarking & Insights: You run our benchmarking pipelines to quantitatively evaluate both the algorithms and the data quality. You visualize and communicate the results of these analyses comprehensibly, so that recommendations for action can be derived.
Pipeline Engineering: You implement and test improvements in the benchmarking pipelines and algorithm parameters.

Your Profile

Your Studies: You are studying in an upper bachelor's semester or first master's semester (Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or related fields) or have a focus in Data Science/Statistics. You also have a valid proof of enrollment.
Analytical Skills: You enjoy diving deep into data and are passionate about statistical data analysis.
Curiosity for Complex You enjoy working with and understanding complex algorithms in a challenging domain.
Teamwork: You work with a high standard of quality and can coordinate well within the team.
Language Skills: You speak German at a business fluent level (min. C1) and English fluently (min. B2).
Bonus: You have previous experience in architecture or PropTech and initial programming experience with Python.

Your Start Date and Location

Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Münster (approx. 1 day per week in the office)
Employment Type: Working Student (12-20 hrs./week, flexible hours)
