At our clients, AI agents are running in daily operations. They review documents, categorize requests, and prepare decisions. Not in a pitch deck and not in an innovation lab, but productively in the German Mittelstand (SMEs).

This is exactly where our work lies: turning a good AI demo into a solution that reliably functions in a real process.

Our client projects are growing faster than our team. That's why we are looking for someone to work alongside our project managers: preparing workshops, tracking results, keeping clients informed, and implementing clearly defined solution components independently.

In doing so, you will learn not only to apply AI but also to translate it into real processes. You will combine project work, consulting, and AI building – a combination that few already develop during their studies.

Who we are

Lucid Labs is an AI-first studio for applied AI in the German Mittelstand. We don't just select use cases; we develop and operate solutions that run productively in their processes. Our team deliberately comes not only from consulting but also from company building, product management, project work, and engineering. Founder Marek Janetzke previously helped build Flightright to a successful exit.

Responsibilities

You typically work on two to three client projects simultaneously – with clearly defined tasks and a responsible project manager.

55% Project work at the client's site

You will support our project managers throughout the entire project lifecycle:

• Prepare and facilitate workshops
• Structure and document processes and requirements
• Track tasks, decisions, and open points
• Prepare status updates and reports for management
• Formulate client communication and clear next steps
• Identify early on if something is missing, unclear, or stalled

After workshops, results and next steps are usually sent to the client on the same day. Your benchmark: Nothing is left undone in the project, and the client knows at all times where things stand.

25% Own small builds

You will implement clearly defined components of real AI implementations – for example:

• a workflow that pre-sorts incoming requests
• an agent that checks documents and outputs results in a structured way
• an automation that consolidates information from multiple systems

You will work with Claude, n8n, and our internal stack, among others. You will develop these components embedded in an experienced project team, test them according to our quality standards, and bring them to production readiness together with project managers and engineers.

20% Internal improvement

You will help us become better as a consulting and project team:

• Further develop templates for workshops and reports
• Simplify project documentation
• Automate recurring tasks
• Test new tools and bring sensible applications to the team

Our principle: What annoys you every week, you are allowed and encouraged to improve. If you manually rebuild the same table for the third time, you've probably found your next automation use case.

Your first 90 days

In the first three to four weeks, you will shadow two projects, take over project updates, reports, and workshop preparation, and learn our tools, methods, and quality standards.

After six to eight weeks, you will support fixed projects, take responsibility for initial topics with the client, and have implemented your first build.

After three months, you will largely manage your work packages independently, proactively keep project managers and clients updated, and identify open points before others ask.

Qualifications

• You are currently pursuing a degree. Your field of study is secondary to us, but we have a slight preference for studies in economics.
• You have already gained initial real work experience – for example, in an internship, a working student position, a student initiative, or your own project.
• You did not just watch but took responsibility and reliably completed something.
• You want to pursue a career in consulting, project work, product development, or entrepreneurship after graduation.
• You regularly use AI tools for demanding tasks – not just as a search engine substitute.
• You work in a structured and reliable manner. When you say you'll take care of something, the team can rely on you.
• You can explain complex content simply and precisely in writing and verbally.
• You communicate in German at a very confident C1 level at least and can formulate professional client communication.
• Your English is fluent.
• You can work 15-20 hours per week, and more during semester breaks if you wish.

What is more important to us than a perfect CV

You don't have to be a finished AI engineer or management consultant yet. What matters is that you think analytically, learn quickly, and are eager to delve into technical and functional contexts. You will learn the necessary methods, tools, and quality standards in your first few weeks with us. We evaluate not only what you can do today but, above all, how quickly you understand new things, apply them, and reliably translate them into results.

Plus, but not a must:

• Initial experience with n8n, Make, Zapier, Lovable, or similar tools
• Experience in project management
• Responsibility in a student initiative
• Your own side project that you have actually completed

And also important: We work ambitiously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Someone who is friendly, communicates openly, and can laugh at their own mistakes usually fits better with us than someone who just wants to appear as professional as possible.

Benefits

Consulting that doesn't end with slides
We are not a classic strategy consultancy: Concepts only count when something is implemented, tested, and used. Those who understand the process with the client also work on the solution – you see projects from discovery to go-live.

Responsibility without micromanagement
You receive clear goals, but no instructions for every step of the work. Suggestions and objections are welcome: It's not the most senior person who is right, but the better argument – from the founder to the working student. Feedback runs in both directions: Feel free to say if a process is unnecessarily complicated, a decision doesn't make sense, or something is missing.

Short paths and visible impact
There are no unnecessary layers between you, the project managers, and the decision-makers at the client's. What you implement doesn't go through approval loops for months – you usually see in a few weeks if it works.

Room for personal development
You shouldn't be doing the same thing all the time. If you enjoy client workshops, you'll take on more responsibility there faster; if you delve into n8n, you'll get more demanding builds; if you automate an internal process, it will become a standard for the team.

Experimenting with a professional standard
Not every first attempt has to succeed. What's important is that problems become visible early, results are checked, and findings are documented so that the same mistake doesn't happen twice. It's better to test a hypothesis early than to polish for three months something that nobody needs.

Remote, but not anonymous
Our team is mostly based in Berlin and meets regularly at the office near the main train station; in addition, you work flexibly remotely. We keep meetings short, document decisions, and make responsibilities visible – no one should have to sit in five calls to find out what's happening in the project.

Modern work tools
You will get access to our complete AI and automation stack: Claude, OpenAI, Cursor, n8n.

Compatibility with studies
During exam periods, you reduce your hours; during semester breaks, you can work more if interested.

We consider working students as a long-term talent pipeline, not as cheap additional capacity. If the technical and personal fit is right, there is a realistic perspective after graduation as a Consultant or Product Builder with us.
