Job description
Remote-first, Office in Karlsruhe | Starting immediately | Permanent from day one
EUR 4,500–7,000 gross fixed salary per month. Your placement within the fixed salary band depends on your relevant experience and the closing responsibility you undertake.
Why your mission matters
Information security today determines whether a company remains operational. Our clients are medium-sized businesses and KRITIS organizations who do not want to see NIS2 and increasing requirements as mere paperwork, but rather as protection that holds.
As a Docking Officer, you are the person who turns interest into a decision. You conduct strategy discussions with management and IT leadership, create decision certainty, and bring the contract to a successful conclusion. Docking means: two parties connect firmly. That is exactly your task.
You don't sell what a manufacturer dictates. You sell what our crew actually implements, and you can stand by it even a year later.
What awaits you
Your role on board
You take over pre-qualified needs. Initial contact and scheduling are handled by an agency or another crew member who conducts the value-added discussion. If a conversation reaches you, the need has been vetted. Your task begins where it concerns the decision.
Conducting Strategy Discussions
Sharpening the problem, goal, and benefit picture together with the client
Clarifying the decision path, criteria, and stakeholders
Concluding every discussion with a confirmed outcome and binding next steps
Steering Closings
Structuring offers, clearly presenting options, openly addressing objections and risks
Agreeing on binding decision roadmaps with clients; where necessary, you will lead the decision-making discussion
Negotiating procurement, contract durations, scope of services, and contract points
Closing the order, scheduling the kick-off, and ensuring handover to implementation
From Entry to Mandate
You close our entry-level products, e.g., ISO 27001 inventory, NIS2 starter package, or CRA starter package
From these, you develop follow-up orders for mandates and services, e.g., ISO 27001 implementation or NIS2 implementation with ISB mandate, Crypto Inventory & SBOM-as-a-Service
Technical Support
The technical team is involved in solution architecture. You don't have to sell technology alone
You work directly with management, without multi-level approval processes
What you will be measured by
Closing rate, offer turnaround time, order intake, and the accuracy of your forecast. Not by the number of your calls.
This is what your week looks like
Our target scenario with a built-up pipeline: up to 10 pre-qualified strategy discussions per week
A fixed weekly meeting with management on pipeline and risks
Coordination with the technical team before discussions related to solutions
Monthly review of sales key figures
What you bring
At least 4 years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 2 years having full closing responsibility
Experience with medium-sized businesses and decision-makers at the management and IT leadership level
Familiarity with information security and relevant legal requirements, especially NIS2: You can confidently explain confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and their importance for companies. You will familiarize yourself with product-specific details with the support of our technical team – you don't have to be a technician.
Confidence in handling business cases, procurement, and multi-stage decisions
A structured approach to work and the attitude to honestly say no rather than sell poorly
What you should know
We are a small crew. You are the first person in closing, and there is no sales team yet. However, you are not starting from scratch: brand, products, website, lead generation, CRM, and offer templates are already in place. We will further expand the pipeline on this basis. A consistently full calendar is not to be expected at the start.
We rely on a reliable fixed salary instead of individual sales commissions. Through a crew-wide profit-sharing scheme, we involve you in the company's collective success.
You are a good fit for us if you want to take responsibility and further develop our sales on an existing foundation.
What we offer
Crew-wide profit sharing on the collective company success
Permanent contract from the first day, with a three-month probationary period
30 days of vacation, plus by agreement
Remote-first with an office in Karlsruhe as a paid co-working option
Trust-based working hours with time tracking
Personal development budget of 5% of gross salary
Mentoring and sponsorship during onboarding
Modern equipment, the same for everyone
Workation in blocks of up to four weeks, plus crew days
Further options in a personal conversation
Sounds like your mission?
Then contact Samuel Plewe, +49 721 181290-90, or directly via join.com.
We usually respond within two working days and read every application ourselves.
Become part of the crew that protects what counts tomorrow.
