Welding and Soldering Process Engineer

VARTA Microbattery is looking for a Welding & Soldering Process Engineer (Battery Assembly) with solid experience in battery assembly processes, who will take technical responsibility for optimizing, standardizing, and validating critical production processes. The role is addressed to a senior engineer, oriented towards excellent technique and measurable results.

Main responsibilities

• Will act as technical authority for the allocated process area, with direct responsibility for its performance.
• Will monitor and improve key performance indicators (performance, availability, rejection rate), based on official data and correct measurements.
• Will be technically responsible for processes and equipment allocated to you, ensuring validation according to internal and client requirements.
• Will analyze and implement corrective measures for equipment defects, providing technical support to the Maintenance Department.
• Will create and maintain process documentation (work instructions, process flow, layouts etc.) and participate in training production and maintenance personnel.
• Will define necessary equipment requirements for new projects and actively participate in implementing new products and processes.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in technical fields (Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or similar).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in welding processes: resistive, ultrasonic (plastic/metal) and/or laser.
• Solid experience in soldering processes, manual and automated.
• Advanced knowledge in applying quality tools: DOE, SPC, MSA.
• Advanced English language skills (written and spoken).
• Good knowledge of MS Office operation.
