Your New Role

As a Welder, you will be responsible for manufacturing safety equipment across various industries, including stair balustrades and handrails.

Key Responsibilities:

• Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
• Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machinery
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools
• Aligning parts using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using MIG welding techniques, bolting, and riveting
• Examining welds for bead width, penetration, and precision
• Cleaning and smoothing welds through filing, chiselling, and grinding
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, and treating surfaces
• Fabrication work including cutting and assembly
• Working autonomously in the factory
• Occasional onsite installation work
• Liaising with site contacts and communicating job progress

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings
• Experience in MIG welding (mild steel, galvanised steel, RHS, and pipe)
• Commitment to producing high-quality and accurate work
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Good communication skills
