Welder Artisan

De Beers Group of Companies is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Welder to join the Engineering & Site Services Department at the Gahcho Kué Mine Site in the Northwest Territories. Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for fabrication, welding, and repair of stationary, mechanical, and auxiliary equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation across the mine site. The ideal candidate is committed to zero harm and safe work practices. This is a 1 week in and 1 week out rotation and the point of pick up is Yellowknife or Calgary.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mining and plant equipment, including tanks, piping, conveyor systems, and structural components.
• Weld and fabricate components to industry standards for durability and safety.
• Conduct inspections and troubleshooting to identify deficiencies in metal structures and equipment.
• Work with millwrights and mechanics to support repairs and ensure proper equipment operation.
• Operate cutting, grinding, and welding tools to shape and restore metal components.
• Ensure compliance with company safety regulations, reporting incidents and assisting in investigations.
• Participate in safety audits and maintenance planning meetings to improve processes.
• Maintain detailed work records, reports, and orders to track equipment servicing.
