Job description

Introduction

We are looking for new colleagues! Migrando is a Legal Tech company from Cottbus. Our mission is to make the complicated and lengthy naturalization process more efficient and customer-friendly. With our expertise in immigration law, our legal competence, and a strong team of numerous employees, we successfully guide thousands of clients on their path to German citizenship. It's best to get an insight yourself at migrando(.)de/karriere, our career page. Because we can write whatever we want here, in the end, it remains a boring introduction.

We don't care what certificates you have or where you studied. What interests us: What can you really do? Those who have worked in practice for years and gained hands-on experience bring more than any course completion. We are looking for colleagues who ideally have several years of experience and are ready to take responsibility.

We Offer You

With us, you can expect a mix of creative freedom and real impact. You won't be working on abstract concepts that might go live someday – but on products that thousands of people see and use daily. Your output is visible, measurable, and makes a difference.

  • Varied Creative Projects
With us, you design real products: from landing pages for legal advice to information portals and interactive online assistants.
  • Access to Premium Tools
You will work with modern plugins and tools such as Figma, Lovable, Bricks, and Hubspot.
  • Company Access to Adobe and More
Of course, in this role, you will receive access to the Adobe Creative Cloud and all other tools you need.
  • AI Design
You can get hands-on when it comes to trying out new AI tools for your designs. Perhaps a new workflow will emerge for you? We encourage our employees in many areas to use AI to make work faster and easier. For this purpose, we provide you with Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini in their respective Pro versions.
  • Large Inspiration and Asset Libraries
Numerous icons, illustrations, and high-quality design assets are available to you. We also have Pro access to tools like Mobbin, so you can learn directly from the big players.
  • High-End Hardware of Your Choice
Whether it's a MacBook Pro M3 or a Dell XPS with Linux. You'll get the machine on which you perform best, including 4K monitors.
  • Wide Reach
Over the years, we've already reached many people with our platform. This large amount of traffic allows us to see results quickly and leads to a meaningful feeling of work.
  • Real Personal Responsibility
You are not just implementing others' ideas. You bring your own perspectives, make design decisions, and have a direct line to all teams and management – without long approval loops.
  • Small Teams Instead of Open-Plan Offices
You work in manageable teams where people know each other and can quickly get into conversation.
  • Music at Work
We don't frown if you put on headphones. If it helps you (and doesn't bother others), you're also welcome to blast Heavy Metal through a sound system at your desk.
  • Modern Old Building Office in the Heart of Cottbus
High ceilings, plenty of natural light, plants in the rooms, and a courtyard for breaks in between. You can get a glimpse of our premises on our website.
  • Ergonomic Workplace with Modern Equipment
Back-friendly chair, height-adjustable desk, two large monitors, a high-quality headset, a powerful laptop, and a quiet environment.
  • Home Office Option
Basically, we work in the office because collaboration and exchange on-site are important to us. At the same time, home office is possible at any time. Even spontaneously and without long coordination.
  • Trust-Based Working Hours Without Core Hours
We have no prescribed time windows in which you must be present.
  • Flexible Part-Time Models
Whether it's a 4-day week, 30 hours, or an individual model. Your job should fit your life, not the other way around.
  • Spontaneous Vacation Days
Sometimes you just need a break. We plan our teams so that spontaneous days off are also possible, without stress or guilt.
  • Family-Friendly Culture
Sick children, parent-teacher evenings, or short doctor's appointments – we know that such situations are part of everyday life. Family and health take priority here.
  • Short Communication Channels
With us, you don't have to navigate through hierarchies or write long emails to be heard. You can talk directly to colleagues, team leads, or management at any time. Decisions are made quickly, exchange is direct, and no one sits in an ivory tower.
  • Contribute Instead of Just Executing
We are looking for colleagues who think along. If you have an idea on how a process can run better, a tool would be useful, or a workflow could function more smartly, then you will be heard.
  • Meaningful Work
Your activity has a direct impact on people's lives. You support them in arriving in Germany, finding security, and starting a new chapter. This is not dry office work – it is work with real meaning and tangible impact.
  • Feel-Good Benefits On-Site
Our Feel-Good Manager regularly provides small breaks – from neck and shoulder massages to short relaxation and beauty sessions, to moments to catch your breath.
  • Regular Team Events
We like to celebrate. Summer party by the lake, cozy Christmas party, Halloween bash, joint lunches, or after-work dinners with the department. Our events ensure that we grow together as a team and can sometimes put aside the daily work routine. But don't worry: attendance is not mandatory, and leaving early is also not a problem.
  • On-Site Fitness Room
Our own fitness room is available to you directly in the building – free of charge, well-equipped, and accessible at any time.

Possible Areas of Responsibility

With us, you can expect a mix of design and implementation work. Depending on your strengths and interests, you will take on tasks that establish you as a firm pillar of the design team or support the development team on the frontend. We are looking for colleagues who ideally have several years of experience and are ready to take responsibility.

  • Develop Landing Pages
You build clear and compelling landing pages – for example, on naturalization, residence permits, or new tools – and create structures that engage users and drive good conversions.
  • Develop Visual Concepts
You design modern and well-structured layouts for landing pages, websites, and internal projects and tools. In Figma, you build complete design concepts and, if necessary, implement them.
  • Develop Information Articles
You design blog and news articles and help to prepare, input, and publish content understandably.
  • Mobile Optimization
You specifically adapt designs for mobile devices and are aware that our website is primarily used on mobile phones.
  • Build Pages with WordPress + Elementor
You implement your Figma designs in WordPress – using Elementor Pro, Custom HTML/SCSS, and attention to detail. Here and there, you will also come into contact with other tools: Bricks, Hubspot, or e.g. email designer tools.
  • Develop Modular Templates
You create reusable Elementor templates, global styles, and component-based layout blocks so that our projects are not only beautiful but also efficient and consistent.
  • Ongoing Maintenance
You make HTML/CSS adjustments, maintain menus, custom post types, and global styles, and take care of performance aspects such as image optimization, lazy loading, or caching.
  • Collaboration with SEO, Content & Performance
You work closely with other teams to improve conversions and prepare elements for search engines.
  • Image Editing & Selection
You select suitable images or create them yourself. Think of: featured images for blog or news articles.
  • A/B Testing
You develop design variations for testing and coordinate with the team to find out what really works with our users.

Your Profile

We don't care what certificates you have or where you studied. What interests us: What can you really do? Those who have gained years of hands-on experience, built websites, optimized layouts, and implemented designs for real users bring more than any course completion. We are looking for colleagues who ideally have several years of experience and are ready to take responsibility.

  • WordPress & Elementor
You have several years of practical experience with WordPress and Elementor and know the typical stumbling blocks from your own work.
  • Fundamentals in the Web Design Stack
You have a good command of HTML5 and CSS3, ideally also with SASS/LESS.
  • Sense for Design
You have a strong sense for aesthetics, typography, spacing, and structure, along with an understanding of how users think and navigate online.
  • Proficient with Design Tools
You use Figma (or comparable tools like Sketch or Adobe XD) to create wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs. You work with clear visual structures and enjoy collaboration.
  • Attention to Detail with a Big Picture View
You pay attention to every pixel, to spacing, and micro-details, but still keep the larger user journey and the strategic goal of the page in mind.
  • Routine in Responsive Design
Desktop, Tablet, Mobile – for you, these are not extras but an inherent part of every project. You can smoothly coordinate layouts for different breakpoints.
  • Experience in Web Design
You have already worked with WordPress, Elementor, Figma, or HTML/CSS and feel comfortable in this world.
  • No Formal Requirements
You don't need a degree or 30 further training courses. We want to find talent and capable new colleagues. Even if you don't meet all the points here – we are looking for experienced and responsible colleagues, ideally you have been active in this field for many years and have gained a lot of learning. Because that's exactly what we're interested in: clean, long-term robust solutions to problems. And you usually only get those after learning the hard way for a while.
  • Simple Communication
You are communicative and open. We don't really want to write generic things here, but this point is important. Good collaboration often outweighs pure know-how. A colleague with whom collaboration is pleasant and smooth can be more valuable in everyday life than someone with more expertise but with whom communication is rather sluggish.
  • German or English
You speak German or English, or preferably both (approx. B2 level). Don't worry, we don't need to see a language certificate.
