Web3 Technical Team Lead (3 Month Initial Contract)

Web3 Technical Team Lead (CT or JHB based) We are looking for a Web3 Technical Team Lead to coordinate a cross-functional engineering team and drive the delivery of complex Web3 products. This role is focused on technical leadership, architectural clarity, and ensuring smooth execution across frontend, backend, indexing, and smart contract workflows. Hands‑on smart contract development is not required, but strong technical understanding of Web3 integrations is essential. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Define and communicate technical vision and strategy aligned with product goals. Architect and design scalable and efficient Web3 solutions, considering security and performance. Oversee the development of frontend, backend, indexing, and smart contract integrations. Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices. Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver successful product releases. Stay up-to-date with the latest Web3 technologies and trends. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Proven experience in a technical leadership role, leading engineering teams. Deep understanding of Web3 technologies, including blockchain protocols, decentralized applications (dApps), and related concepts. Experience with frontend and backend development. Experience with indexing solutions (e.g., The Graph). Experience with smart contract integrations. Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and architectural best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bonus Points Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment. Familiarity with specific blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, etc.).
